  • Quiet family-run touring park 15 minutes' walk from Withernsea
  • A 10-minute walk from a sandy beach and 40 minutes' drive from Hull
  • Fishing lake, miniature golf and licensed bar and restaurant
Wander over to the beach whenever the will takes you while staying at The Willows Holiday Park – this family-run park on the east Yorkshire coast is a straightforward 10-minute stroll from a splendid swathe of sand that stretches off into the distance for a good couple of miles. If that sounds like the sort of thing that might keep your kids and dogs very happy indeed, you’ll be pleased to hear that a warm welcome is extended to both at this park. At times when the kids aren’t engrossed in bucket and spade activities, there’s a play area and miniature golf course on site to keep them busy, with further good times available at the on-site licensed bar and restaurant. And it’s not just the beach that’s within easy ambling distance… the little seaside town of Withernsea is 15 minutes away on foot too, for shops, cafés, pubs and the obligatory fish and chip seaside suppers. Legs not up to the walk? There’s a bus stop just outside the park for even easier journeys. Sunny days could see you spending much of your time simply strolling back and forth from the seaside, or perhaps settling in for some leisurely time by the fishing lake on site. Dreary weather isn’t any form of disaster around here though, as the area’s packed with undercover activities, including Withernsea’s swimming pool and bowling alley and days out at the excellent The Deep aquarium in Hull (40 minutes’ drive away).

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Toilet blocks immaculate. Modern clean and warm showers. The bar/clubhouse was lovely. Very new, good choice of good and drink with nice outside area. Nice easy 15 minute walk to Withernsea and beach. Buses also stop right outside. Tracey the site manager was fabulous. Always on hand for advice when needed.

Disliked: Don't come for the fishing! Lake is empty and no one was catching anything. Although there is a large Tesco 10 minutes walk away, a little shop on site for essentials would have been handy.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. The fishing lake isn't empty, sorry you didn't catch anything. Tracy is our new site warden, i will pass this positive feedback onto her.

Liked: Tracy the host looking after the tourers was very helpful even before arriving as delayed by traffic, but sent text to notify of late arrival and she was very reassuring and helpful. On arrival she was waiting to help us settle in and show us around even went and fetched a bus time table. Being our first journey out she helped to make it a smooth and enjoyable experience. The Bar and restaurant was new and very good. Food and drink very good Toilet's and showers very clean Thank you all at willows for making our first outing so enjoyable and Entertainment on the Saturday night Venus Girls were amazing

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. The modern toilet block was lovely, very clean and well maintained. Restaurant and clubhouse on site were very good. We were in a small motorhome and stayed for one night on a hardstanding pitch.

Disliked: Not so much a dislike but a suggestion... a hand rail in the showers would be much appreciated by people, like me, with mobility and balance issues.

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Campsite was clean tidy and well maintained

Disliked: No dogs allowed in the bar even though you are charged to take them on the site , club room was mostly empty and the venue missed out of several hundred pounds by not letting the dogs in as we had to dine and drink else where . We did try the food and it was very very good but sitting outside on the patio was no good enough to return here unfortunately

Local attractions

You’ll be straight off to the coast for starters, presumably – the lengthy beach lends itself well both to family days of paddles and playing in the sand, and to long walks to fill those lungs with sea air. If you’re intrigued by the birds that stop off for a breather on their long migratory journeys, set off for Spurn Point National Nature Reserve (20 minutes’ drive) to spy on what they get up to. Folk more fascinated by flying machines than flying birds can see a rare Blackburn Beverley plane at Fort Paull (25 minutes), a military museum that’s also got underground tunnels to explore. There’s another chance to go below ground in Holmpton (five minutes), home to a huge ex-RAF bunker. Swap underground for underwater with an outing to The Deep aquarium in Hull (40 minutes); the city’s also got a transport museum, maritime museum, car museum and dinosaur attraction to visit, and plenty of places to catch a film or a show.
