The Mill Caravan Park and Camping Site: Summer 2020

General

  • Peaceful village site by the Artro river and two miles from the coast
  • Portmeirion 25 minutes' drive; 50 minutes to Snowdon
  • Families, motorcyclists and Duke of Edinburgh groups welcome

The Mill Caravan Park and Camping Site is set on the edge of the peaceful village of Llanbedr, close to the coast and the high peaks of Snowdonia National Park. It’s also well-placed for riverside wanders – the peaceful river Artro is a few metres from the pitches

Being so close to the village centre makes staying here a fair bit easier. In terms of food, Llanbedr's shops, restaurants and pubs are five minutes away on foot. Transport-wise, there are buses, the A496 that heads up into the mountains and, on the western side of the village, Llanbedr railway station (about 20 minutes’ walk).

There's also a lot of history around these parts. These ancient hills have been inhabited since before written records began – head to Llanbedr's neolithic standing stones (a few minutes' walk from site) if you want to learn more.

Back on site, you'll be settling down in the main site field, a wide open space with vistas over a thickly forested hill. Barbecues and dogs are welcome here. The Mill Caravan Park and Camping Site is popular with family groups, motorcyclists on road trips around the national park and Duke of Edinburgh groups, who regularly stop off here to take advantage of the great views and transport links.

The Welsh coast is also close: Barmouth and Harlech are 15 minutes' drive from site, while the pastel-coloured houses of Portmeirion are 25 minutes away.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

A charge of £1.00 (€1.11) applies for the use of the shower.

    Location.

    Disliked:

Basically this is a small field with what looks like a poorly maintained old public conveniences. This would be manageable if you weren’t paying premium site prices and the site wasn’t overcrowded. The bins were overflowing. There are also no restrictions which meant that people were loud and arriving late into the night. Wasn’t expecting fancy, but at least expected some organisation for the price paid.

Was disappointed that there was no running hot water available at the toilet block and that you had to pay for the shower. £1 got you 7 minutes and the water was luke warm even at that. 🙈

The site was lovely and my sister and i enjoyed our stay. We had good weather. The shower and toilets were clean but there was no toilet paper or paper towels for drying hands. The place needs more attention to small details that stop people moaning.. our pod was good but would have benefitted from a fold up table. The site owner Carol and family were lovely.
