Spring Rock Fishery: Sunset

General

  • Peaceful, scenic countryside site near the Llandegley Rocks
  • A 10-minute drive to Llandrindod Wells; 25 minutes to Elan Valley
  • Pleasure fishing on site; pub serving food within walking distance

Anglers, hikers, pub goers and horse riders… settle serenely down at this site for all of what you seek, in a peaceful position in the Powys countryside.

Spring Rock Fishery is set near the Llandegley Rocks, with several public rights of way starting right from it including a spectacular waterfall walk and forest hikes. It has its own pleasure fishery for anglers of all abilities, made up of a 15-foot lake with mirror, common, ghost and koi carp up to 25lbs; river fishing on the Ithon and fly fishing are both available nearby too.

Several sports and leisure centres with swimming pools are in in the area too, along with a riding centre and pony trekking, 4x4 drives and kayaking along the Wye. And whatever flavour of break you go for, you'll likely like a stroll to the Severn Arms within walking distance of the site, which serves real ales, pub grub and takeaway (please note there's a short roadside section on the walk to the pub).

Spring Rock has a toilet and shower block, a separate washing up area and a chemical disposal point.

Please note

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Guests under the age of 20 are not allowed on site.

Facilities/activities including fishing are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

A charge of £0.20 (€0.24) applies for the use of the shower.

Only a limited number of anglers is allowed to fish at any one time. Please use the 'special requests' box to express your interest (unfortunately, requests cannot be guaranteed). Day tickets are only available for the pleasure lake; there is no day ticket access to the specimen carp lake at any time.

Anyone wishing to fish the carp specimen lake must have appropriate carp fishing equipment including large 42” landing net, unhooking mat, carp care medikit and rod licence. No alarms allowed. Those without the correct equipment will be refused access.

Please be aware that the fishery can close at any time during spawning.

Absolutely fabulous site. Lovely and quiet, gorgeous scenery. The lad who runs it works so hard, and keeps the place spotlessly clean.
Thousands of tiny baby toads were an absolute bonus to our visit.
    Will definitely come again.

Idyllic, peaceful spot with great views, birds, vistas. I don't fish but there's no need to be a fisherperson to enjoy some down time in this corner of paradise. Great walking from the door. Heather and Andy are brilliant hosts, the wash/shower facilities are immaculate. Pod was spotless, equipped just right. Can't wait to get back!

There is wifi, but we were on the edge of its range on the grass pitches. 4G was really good.

For information for other visitors the showers are coin operated, 20p for a minute and £1 for 5 minutes. Its a bit of a mad dash as the coin machines are outside the shower cubicles but you get the hang of it!
