General

  • Riverside site in the Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park grounds
  • A 20-minute drive from Bristol, Bath and the Monarch’s Way path
  • Dog-friendly; experience the park out of hours; watersports rental

What a welcome to the West Country: Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park Camping is in a park alongside the river Avon and in the grounds of the Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park. With 24-hour access to the wildlife park – the park is yours after the guests leave – this is the ultimate out of hours experience. Bonus points… Bristol, Bath and the Monarch’s Way are also only 20 minutes’ drive away.

This dog-friendly site is packed with adventure. Catch a sunrise with the alpacas or watch the sun go down over the Dinosaur Valley, which has a huge collection of animatronic dinosaurs. The On The Deck bar is open every evening and runs happy hour; if you don’t fancy cooking, the burger kitchen will do the chopping and sizzling for you too.

If you’re planning to be chef for the break, there are firepits available for hire. You may very well be quite hungry after taking advantage of the riverside location. There are paddleboards and kayaks for hire and lessons available or you’re welcome to bring your own. Afterwards, rinse off in the site’s hot showers.

With excellent access roads, a stay that includes entry to the Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park (from your arrival date to your departure date) and wildlife around the site, this is a very family-friendly getaway. There are plenty of outdoor play and adventure areas in the adventure park.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this campsite, positives were:
-Access to the animal and adventure park which was great fun for our two children aged 7 and 11.
-Close proximity to a local supermarket and takeaways
-Bar next door to the softplay which was great in the evenings
-After hours access to the animal park - soft play didn't close until 10pm!
-Really lovely staff, very friendly and helpful.
-The bouncy pillow and the jeep safari were a hit with the kids!
    -Clean toilets and showers.
-You could borrow a large bbq if you needed to, really impressed with that!

    Disliked:

There were a few niggly bits however none would put us off returning
-The burger bar food place - portions were small and it was very expensive, we only ate there one evening because of this.
-The washing up sinks were the same sinks used for handwashing after using the toilet and brushing teeth etc - they are also uncovered so if it is raining you are getting soggy. A separate washing up area (needs to be higher as it is back breaking) undercover is a must in my opinion.
-Whilst you can't compete with Waitrose for food, a small tuck shop selling milk, eggs bread etc would have been useful to save peeps from having to leave the campsite.

We are a family with a toddler and baby and loved it! Location was amazing and so good to be able to access the park at any time. The soft play was amazing. We hired a tent and the camp beds were comfy and plenty of space for us and the travel cot we bought for the baby. Showers and toilets were clean and well maintained with warm water. Staff were so friendly and welcoming.

    Disliked:

Light on the outside of the toilet was on all night and shone into the tent (could it be motion activated?). Needed some separate hand washing sinks next to the toilet. Food inside the park wasn’t good and was over priced (£3.99 for a brioche bun and a small tub of Nutella as the “Nutella sandwich!) but big local Waitrose meant we didn’t need to eat out

Amazing site, staff are friendly and helpful. The park amenities were outstanding and there were plenty of activities to keep the children entertained. The dinosaur park is a must, absolutely incredible! The farm had a range of animals. The best campsite I have visited!!
The shower and toilet facilities were clean and easily accessible. The showers were refreshing…
Public transport is easily accessible if you’d prefer not to drive into Bristol and there is a food store (tesco) a short two minute drive away.

    Disliked:

    The menu options were limited.
