Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Cracking site easy to park up caravan as the spaces are massive. Very clean showers and toilets. Outdoor washing up facilities are very clean. Locked gates that are coded so very secure site. The camping field is very well maintained and very level field. 5 large 16amp electric pitches with a clean water tap. Owner was really friendly and helpful. Really clean site. Showers and toilets were very clean. There are two shower cubicles with toilets and two toilet cubicles and an outdoor washing up area. Very handy area as Trowbridge is close to Bath Bristol area and Trowbridge offers lots of shops very near. We do not live far from Trowbridge but my four year old wanted a last minute camping trip in the caravan with her dad in the school holidays just before starting her new school year. Very glad to find this little gem of a site and will definitely be returning.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Ease of access, flat pitch with clean toilets/showers, easy walk into town centre. We were greeted on arrival and shown where to park, a very secure site.

Disliked Couldn't tell when the toilet was occupied, only a little thing, but you had to try the doors to see if they were vacant.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Good size pitches, clean facilities, loved the farm animals.

Disliked Could do with more toilets and showers, had to queue, more often than not, even though it wasn't busy!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The large field secure number pad entry.
Good views and quiet, short walk to the village with a good local takeout.
Friendly staff.
We tried to book a pitch with electrics, which came up as fully booked but there appeared to be a space every day we were there. Not that it mattered in the end.
Could do with another toilet block as we had to wait once or twice and the site possibly wasn’t at its busiest.
Overall we loved it and would stay again.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback.
We are glad to hear enjoyed your stay.

In relation to the electric pitch, as so often is the case in life, sometimes things can appear one way but actually are a little different when other information you may not be aware of is available.
The Electric Pitch in question was booked and utilised on the first night of the booking. It was then vacated during the booking, however the booking was still active.
This being the case there would not have been any availability displayed.

We hope now you have access to this information it provides clarity.

We look forward to your next stay.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked We stayed at Yellowtail Camping from 8th to 10th August and had an amazing time. The weather was glorious, which made the beautiful setting even better. The site itself was fantastic – spacious, well maintained, and clearly cared for. Everything was clean and tidy throughout our stay. The toilets and showers were spotless and well looked after, making a real difference to the comfort of our trip. A lovely, relaxing place to camp – we’ll definitely be back!

Local attractions

Scenic are many of the places around here. First off, there’s Bradford-on-Avon (15 minutes' drive) on the river Avon, where it’s easy to get fully acquainted with the water by canoeing, kayaking or taking a boat tour. There are historical heritage sites too, and it’s not the only place known for that because Bath (half an hour) has Roman baths, the pretty Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey. More of those historical go-tos, Stonehenge (40 minutes) has surely got to make your list for its iconic stone circle. Closer by, the 14th-century remains of Farleigh Hungerford Castle (15 minutes) and the peaceful Iford Manor Gardens (20 minutes) are some other tributes to old times. Then, when you fancy throwing some wildlife into the mix, Longleat Safari Park (30 minutes) has more than its fair share. Other cool natural spots include the limestone caverns at Wookey Hole (an hour), but for that buzz of the town, Frome (half an hour) has a historic centre and Wells (an hour) is packed with events, eateries and museums.
