What customers say
Woodland campsite with wild camping feel, spacious pitches, campfires allowed. Kids love the adventure playground. Friendly staff, clean compost loos & warm showers. Basic but good value. Archery, axe-throwing & nature a big draw.

Lovely spot
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Lovely site. I liked that you can pick your own spot and that campfires are allowed (though I didn't). Really nice and quiet when I was there.
Please be aware that I've ticked the would not recommend box because I just don't recommend things to people and have no one to recommend it to anyway, but Pitch Up have made it a mandatory field.
Disliked One cold shower (the rest were good) and it was a little uncomfortable going for shower, coming across a group of men working on the activities area, smiling, and just being stared at, especially given I was alone. The toilets all need checking more regularly, especially after groups of children have been on site.

Best campsite! Kids love it! Can’t wait to return next year
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked 4th year visiting with our children. We all absolutely love the place.
Disliked As much as we love the site, we felt that toilets were not cleaned as much as our previous visits and the showers which have been hot and lovely in previous years were barely warm and lacked a little care. We know this is a rustic site which is what we love about it but in comparison to the previous years standards have slipped slightly during our visit this year.

This was our second summer visit…
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked This was our second summer visit to this lovely site, just me and my five-year-old, and once again it gave us a wonderful chance to escape city life and reconnect with nature.
My child loved being away from technology, waking up and heading to the activity area in PJ's, enjoying the wilderness-style shower, star-gazing and discovering a toad making its way back into the undergrowth.
We also enjoyed seeing the farmer moving his cattle between the fields. On that day, we used the public footpath and headed back towards the woodland. It was a lovely glimpse into countryside life.
Although it isn't completely off-grid, the wilderness-style shower, composting toilets and running water provide a great balance between basic comforts and feeling immersed in nature.
For me, it was a chance to slow down, recharge and reflect on what's important & what isn't. I was also delighted to discover two new wellbeing businesses next door — had I known about them prior to booking, I would definitely have booked sessions during our stay!
Disliked My only concern was our final night, when we were the only campers in the woodland. As a mum, I didn't feel completely comfortable being there alone with my child and kept my phone close for reassurance and what combat move I'd use!
Perhaps next time I'll try to choose a busier period, although I wouldn't want to lose the wonderful peace and quiet that makes this place so special.
Overall, another lovely and grounding stay, and a wonderful way for a child to experience the simple joys of nature.

Perfect place for a quick overnight stay
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Ease of check-in, you arrive, park your car, pick a spot, use the trolleys provided to get your gear to your space and pitch.
Safe for trips to the beach or niping out to the shop. Friendly campers around you, site is family friendly so most campers have young children or teenagers which is nice if you enjoy a family vibe rather than „adult entertainment” Great facilities for kids to run around with minimum supervision as it feels like „home”
