Liking the sound of a 700-acre nature reserve to explore with the kids? One with a huge covered play area for younger kids, outdoor adventures and den building in the woodland, and way-marked walking routes through wildflower meadows and around lakes? Somewhere to watch avocets, flamingos and cranes go about their daily business from bird hides, follow a sculpture trail and join wildlife talks too? All this and more is yours to enjoy at family-friendly Pensthorpe Summer Camping and Glamping, a pop-up site five minutes’ drive from historic Fakenham in Norfolk. With all that going on, there’s lots to keep everyone amused on site – and when you’re done with the day’s adventuring, you can buy supplies at the on-site shop and get down to barbecuing alfresco meals (firepits are available to hire). Other eating options include a twice-weekly pizza van, the on-site café (open daily 8am–5pm) and the pubs, restaurants or takeaways in Fakenham if you want to eat later in the evening. The pitches sit in peaceful fields within easy walking distance of the reserve and all its amenities. Please note that this is an off-grid pop-up site with solar-powered showers and toilets, but there is no electricity (you can always visit the café to charge phones/devices) so bring torches and batteries for wandering around at night – hopefully under clear skies ablaze with stars.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
