What customers say

A quiet, well-kept site with private pitches and friendly staff. Good cafe & local pubs. Most praised the clean loos, but some found them poorly maintained & ventilation lacking. Pitch access and neighbour noise were minor concerns for a few.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Large campsite area, clean and tidy. Away from the hustle and bustle.
Large hedges shield from the wind.
No power problems at all.

Disliked Would be great to have water alongside the electricity points
Toilet roll ran out in toilets in the evening, had our own but some families might not.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Young male member of staff who checked us in on Saturday, really helpful and friendly. Very clean toilets/shower area ( disabled ) well kept private pitch with hedges. Nice cafe. Beautiful lake. Pitchup advertises you can use freezer but that's not the case, luckily the member of staff kindly let my dad use it.

Disliked We booked for 6 nights, the 1st 2 nights were awful due to a party straight opposite us with a marquee and music/karaoke blasting untill early hrs in the morning, my disabled son couldn't cope with the noise. We we're going to pack up on the Monday and go home, but a gent in the marquee bar said they were leaving on the monday, they are there every bank holiday for future reference ! Had I known this I wouldn't have booked as I'd never put my child in that environment. I'm all for everyone having fun and enjoying themselves but for us and our personal circumstances it isn't suitable, it was a shame because the next few days were lovely and peaceful.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Liked the space, the lake was beautiful

Disliked There was a family of 30+ people in the pitch next to us that had very loud music and singing with a microphone till 3am in the morning so we struggled to sleep and it wasn’t fair on the kids. So didn’t sleep well for 3 nights. There just didn’t seem to be any rules in place, also our neighbours had a dog off the lead and it came over and attacked my dog that was on a lead. again no rules.
The toilets kept blocking up and when I alerted staff of this she just huffed.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Location
Shower/toilet block was modern

Disliked The site was tired, had a rally including a small marquee with beer on tap, karaoke and mic. ALL weekend. Situated about 50yds away. There was no guidlines and people weee very close to each other. Sat night a large marquee with a wedding reception in full swing. All these people used the toilet facilities and went on til early hours. We had no prior knowledge of either of these events and actually left a day early. We had an event close by on the Saturday o thankfully not on site.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Stayed here before returned because like the location and set up. Seperate showers and toilets as well as a wash up area (only one sink though) Cafe good to have if you don’t fancy cooking. Shop very limited more like a tuck shop. Local shop 3 mins drive in Wolvey or Co op 4 mins drive in Bulkington.

Disliked Very noisy at for the 3 nights on this occasion - big group in the other field who had a PA system which meant everything said (mainly by one bloke) or sang when they did karaoke was heard by all when it didn’t need to be. I expect noise when camping it’s part of it but generally there is some consideration for fellow campers which means toning it down after 11pm but this was not the case. Not sure if 5 ways lake were aware of events taking place but a heads up prior to booking would have been appreciated as we would have chosen somewhere else.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Very welcoming owners. Pitch was very large. Site was maintained well.would visit again

Disliked Being where it is, would benefit from a little shop on site for getting small items you might need, lots of comments on toilets being dirty? I found it was only the floor which was dirty! But you have to expect it being a campsite,
