  • Peaceful site next to a 16th-century pub in Kirkby on Bain
  • 1.75-acre coarse fishing with carp, bream, rudd, roach and more
  • Three miles from Woodhall Spa and 21 from Lincoln
Fishing and fauna? Barn owls and kingfishers are among the residents you might encounter among the six acres of wildlife haven of Bainside House in Lincolnshire, with more feathered and furry critters easily spottable in the surrounding countryside via serene strolls along the waters of the Bain. Fish should be easily spotted on site as well: Bainside House's main attraction is its 1.75-acre fishing lake stocked with carp, bream, tench, perch, rudd, roach and barbell. Fishing not your thing? Golf courses and cycle paths are nearby, or you could amble along to Woodhall Spa, zip along to Lincoln, or hike the Lincolnshire Wolds, the Lincolnshire Fens or the Viking Way. (Whatever you pick for your day, round it all off with an evening at the topping 16th-century pub next to the site, which serves good food and a range of cask ales.) Among the basic but well-maintained amenities at this friendly place are a toilet and shower block with disabled access; recycling, and chemical disposal (only biodegradable or cesspool-safe chemicals to be used here, please). Bainside is for adults only.

What customers say

A lovely, peaceful site for adults with roomy, flat pitches. Guests love the friendly owners, spotless loos, and scenic fishing lake. Handy for a pub and Woodhall Spa. Some minor gripes about showers and loos, but upgrades are on the way.

Liked Facilities were great.

First time away ever in our caravan that we’ve been working on for a few months.

Couldn’t have picked a better site for our first of many adventures.

The owners were top notch and really friendly.

The walks nearby were perfect for our dog.

Disliked Not a single fault.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Everything. Greeted on arrival, shown to my pitch, all facilities pointed out and explained. Toilets and showers best I have encountered in all my travels, super modern and clean. The whole site gives a well maintained, peaceful and friendly vibe. Lovely walks around the fishing pond in the evening and easy access to the riverbank. Fiona and Paul must be congratulated for making the whole experience so satisfying.

Disliked The ony problem was having to leave.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked This site is lovely. All pitches are spacious .
We had room for our motorhome and a car.
Electricity and water were on the pitch.

The showers were one of the best, temperature could be adjusted and they weren't push buttons. The shower rooms were always clean.
Only had to wait once for a few mins over a 4 night stay for a shower.

The site is well maintained but also feels like you're in the middle of nature. I enjoyed wanders around the lake onsite.

The owners are friendly and helpful.

WiFi on site was good for general browsing, social media and messaging.

The little honesty shop was useful and decent value for the ease of it being onsite.

Woodhall Spa, only 10-15 min drive away was lovely to wander around . We also nipped to Coningsby early evening (again 10-15 min drive away) and managed to see 3 of the euro fighters come in to land.
Huttoft Beach was around 40 minutes drive away. This was a lovely sandy beach with easy access into the sea.
