General

  • Family- and dog-friendly site in the Lincolnshire Fens
  • Adventurers’ haven: walking, biking and riding routes, and boat hire
  • Slow-paced hols: Golfing and fishing less than 10 minutes’ walk

Don your explorers’ cap for oodles of hiking, biking, riding and boating… At Springfield Farm Campsite, a family-friendly site half an hour’s drive from Spalding market town in Lincolnshire, they’re all part of a relaxing getaway.

Inside the Lincolnshire Fens, Springfield Farm is a prime jumping off spot for exploration of this part of Cambridgeshire – there are tons of trails criss-crossing the Fens that should suit cyclists, ramblers and horseback riders down to the marshland ground, and hire a narrowboat for a day of tootling along the Fens’ small rivers in March (30 minutes away).

For that sedate experience, net yourself some prime lakeside seating and cast a line out at North View Fishing Lakes, less than a minute’s drive or 10 minutes’ walk from the site, or play a round at the neighbouring Gedney Hill Golf Course instead.

Back on site, there’s play equipment, petting animals, table tennis, football and basketball for the whole family – even Rex will be kept busy with a few turns in the enclosed dog walk area. Or you could simply soothe your aching limbs in the hot tub (just don’t forget to prebook)…

Once you’ve all worked up an appetite, head to the shared kitchen or fire up the barbecue and get to cooking (you can grab supplies from the grocery store two minutes down the road or one of the larger supermarkets in Wisbech, half an hour away). If you’d prefer a change of scenery, try one of the restaurants within 15 minutes of Springfield Farm.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

    Everything!
Yurt was lovely, spacious, comfy beds, nicely decorated. Really appreciate the kitchen facilities, very well stocked. We used the hot tub for the first time (despite the rain!) and it was a great end to a day of cycling.

Claire is lovely and so helpful, they are putting in some great facilities for next year - really looking forward to going back again!

Phone signal and wi fi are a bit patchy - but we were on holiday so who cares!

Everything. Clare was outstanding from start to finish. From her attention to detail to engaging with the children - the site is well maintained and I think undersells itself on the website - honestly the best glamping experience we’ve had. The children loved the animals and the site is so relaxed and just good old fashioned fun. Could not recommend highly enough as it has everything you could possibly need for a fantastic trip. Great facilities but what really made our time there was Clare and the team doing everything possible to let us just enjoy our time away. Brilliant.

It made the holiday much more relaxing for us parents!
Campsite was clean and the showers were hot. Clare couldn't have been more accommodating, we booked a fire pit when we got there and the wood was replaced quickly after it got drenched in a storm! Really appreciated that. The site was enclosed with a fence so felt really safeThank you will definitely be back.

Local attractions

Start your stay at Springfield Farm Campsite by exploring the surrounding towns and villages: visit the bi-weekly markets and try your hand at pottery painting in Spalding, marvel at the ruined abbey and three-sided bridge in Crowland, and scoot over to Wisbech for Elgood’s Brewery and Peckover House and Gardens.

If Peckover has whetted your appetite for stately old piles, you’re well-served around here: the spectacular Oxburgh Hall and Tattershall are both within an hour of the site, and you can feel like royalty at Queen Liz’s country gaff at Sandringham, 45 minutes away.

Want a change from bricks and mortar? Get out in nature at the Wash National Nature Reserve, 45 minutes from Springfield Farm, or stick closer to base with stops at Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre and Skylark Garden Centre, Maze and Funyard.

Take a break from the touristy traipsing to burn a hole in your pocket at Springfields Shopping Outlet, giving the kids (and your card) time to cool off between shops at Adventure Land and re-finding your zen post-spree in the Springfields Festival Gardens.
