What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

Liked Location. Pitch. Warm welcome and excellent hospitality Pitch was good nice and flat and easy access to the facilities - including the clubhouse / bar

Camping pod

Liked The Pods are all fitted out with Pine so feel cosy. There is a two bench seat and table arrangement which converts into a double sized bed using the existing padded foam seats. Only takes seconds to convert.
Our Pod had two double sockets, fridge, microwave, heater, kettle, toaster, light switch internal and external.
Able to park Car/Van next to Pod on concrete base.
Able to take Dog

First Pod had an issue with Lock, but Host swopped us to another Pod immediately.

Shared Toilets and shower were clean. Instant Hot water available.

There was a Bar onsite that served food.

Disliked As it rained a lot, the entrance to Pod got quite muddy due to the soggy grass. No boot mat available at door so mud got into Pod a bit.
The Toilet paper in both Gents & Ladies ran out (almost) Maybe we were supposed to self supply ?
No socket at bed to charge phone/i-pad etc.

Liked Everything, price was brilliant, lovely location, hardstanding was great, facilities all good although we didn't use showers as we use our own, owner seemed really nice, there is a pool which was closed at the time of year we visited and there is also food and drink available, unfortunately we didn't get chance to try it on this occasion but will next time

Disliked The only little things were fresh water tap we found was behind someone's pitch and very low down so difficult to use and we couldn't find a hosepipe on the Elsan point to wash out our cassette so we had to use a jug but that was all.

Liked A nice site, tucked away alongside the river Witham. On-site facilities were good, the clubhouse was a welcome extra, serving food and drinks. It was sited perfectly for a visit to nearby RAF Coningsby. I would certainly consider staying here again. A walk alongside the river was nice and peaceful.

Disliked I personally didn't find anything to dislike about the site.

Liked We had such an amazing time, Phil, Penny, Roz, Martin and Kat were all incredible, so friendly and welcoming. Although there were many regulars we did not feel out of place, they are all just as amazing. The pods are fantastic with all the basics you need like a bed, kettle, toaster, fridge, heater. We also had jets flying over regularly and numerous times a day, doing different formations, they are fascinating. Its so close to the RAF base and defo something that should be on your bucket list. Lots of other things to do locally like go karting, the bubblecar museum, aviation centre, amazing river walks. EM AND MAX

Disliked Nothing worth mentioning when all the pros out weigh the con.

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
