  • Surrounded by Hertfordshire and Essex countryside
  • Half an hour by train from London
  • Bike hire, countryside views, playground and shop
Are you up for escaping London town for a spell? Or how about settling down within easy reach of it at less than city prices – leaving you free to spend your dosh on train fares into town and quite a lot of London beer? Have a look at Lee Valley Caravan Park Dobbs Weir, only 30 minutes from the glittery lights of the capital. A nifty base for city trips or Lee Valley sojourns, Dobbs Weir is surrounded by Hertfordshire and Essex green countryside, and carefully landscaped to fit in with its natural surroundings (excellent countryside views come as standard). Pitches have plenty of space between them so there's no chance of feeling hemmed in. Bike hire is available, along with free wifi, a playground and a site shop. Amenities include disabled access facilities with heated toilet and shower blocks, chemical disposal, and a laundry with drying and ironing.

Wee Brave wigwam (no pets)

Liked I came here for 2 nights, and everything was good and peaceful. The huts are as clean as home, and the whole environment is quiet. There is space to do BBQ, walk around in nature, and space to just sit down and have a snack. There is also a cafe, pub and a pathway (to walk) near Dobbs Weir

Note: I had to leave the key in the room, whilst checking out as I needed to take my younger relative to her GP appointment, I tried to check out at the reception but maybe I was a bit too early (it was around 8am); I'm really sorry if this caused any disruption, and created any extra work

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very friendly staff. Clean facilities although a little dated. Nice level pitches. Good location and very handy for Broxbourne Train Station for access to central London, Cambridge etc.

Disliked Lots of Canadian Geese, meaning lots of mess, but this is to be expected where animals roam freely (as they should be able to do). This was no fault of the site and just mother nature doing her thing.

Easy to find, convenient for our requirements, good size pitches, good facilities.…

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Easy to find, convenient for our requirements, good size pitches, good facilities.

Disliked Goose poo everywhere, paid for electric hook up but was unable to use it as the power point was too far away and our 10m cable wouldn't reach.

3 Parking fines when barrier was not working, staff unhelpful.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Level pitches

Disliked Very very disappointed by the fact that the barrier codes given didn’t work and as a result we have been fined for parking as the cameras picked up the vehicles we returned in but couldn’t access, the emergency buzzer was not answered because reception was closed and no one answered the emergency phone number another person was trying to call. The site refuse to speak to parking eye on my behalf even though they agree the barrier was not working, 3x£60 fines over 3 days I have spoken with them and they are very unconcerned although I requested to bring our van on the request box of the booking form through pitchup which was ignored and they are blaming pitchup for this, saying this wasn’t sent through for them to reply . I would not recommend staying here for this reason.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The facilities were basic but clean, staff were friendly and helpful the little shop had essential items and sold ice creams so was a hit with the kids. The pitches were a good size with a big grass area behind each one so could spread out.

Disliked The play park had been removed which wasn't on the booking page with young kids this is one of the things we look for in a site so this was disappointing
