Liked Pleasant location and staff.
Disliked Very poor that the site is advertised with a restaurant but for our two night stay the restaurant was closed. We should surely have been told this when we booked. The site is a twenty minute walk to the town and there is a very steep access road to the site which we had to cope with on both nights of our stay. In addition we were plagued with flies for the whole time we were there which made it impossible for us to sit by our van.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you appreciated our location and the friendliness of our staff. Regarding the restaurant, we would like to clarify that during the two days of your stay, both the bar and restaurant were open for lunch service, although they were closed in the evenings. We completely understand your disappointment if this did not meet your expectations, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Although the bar and restaurant are independently managed, we will be happy to pass your comments on to their management. We also regret the inconvenience caused by the flies. This was an exceptional and short-lived situation which, as can be seen from reviews collected over more than 11 years of operation, is something that has almost never been mentioned by our guests. As for the walk to the town, the distance and access road are accurately shown on our website so that guests can decide whether our location suits their preferences. Many visitors enjoy the peaceful setting and the scenic riverside walk to Zumaia, although we understand that the uphill access may not be ideal for everyone.

Liked Facilities were fine.
Disliked Location was difficult to get to and there was not much nearby.
Our main problem was that there was no restaurant available for some reason that was not quite clear. When we asked at reception we were told that a chiringito was open and we were given directions to find it. After a considerable walk in the heat we found that it too was closed ( on a Thursday evening. )When we returned to reception the young lady was unapologetic and clearly not interested.

From the manager: Dear Paul D, We are truly sorry for what happened during your stay and, above all, for the way you felt you were treated when you returned to reception. We sincerely apologize for the attitude you experienced. It was certainly not our intention for you to feel unattended or that your concerns were not important. We understand how frustrating it must have been to walk in the heat to a beach bar that was closed and then feel that you did not receive the help or empathy you deserved when you came back. We are very sorry. Regarding the restaurants and beach bars in the surrounding area, their opening days and hours can vary depending on the season, and some of them are commonly closed on Thursdays during the period of your stay. Nevertheless, the information given to you at reception should have been checked more carefully before directing you there. We understand that this may have been an oversight, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused. We are especially sorry that the way the situation was handled made you feel ignored or uncared for. That was never our intention, and we will take your comments seriously. We sincerely hope you can forgive us and that you might give us another opportunity to welcome you in the future and provide you with the experience you should have had. Kind regards, The Camping Team

Liked Location of campsite.
Disliked Toilets were awful, like something from twenty years ago. No toilet paper, no toilet seats and sinks in a separate area and no soap in that area either. Urinals were in open space outside. Reception was unhelpful and in general the campsite had a run down feel.
