Liked Lovely site in lovely surroundings. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Although the site was not flat the pitches were very flat. Showers and toilets were spotless at all times.
Disliked Heating could have been a bit better in the toilet and shower block.

It’s also great to hear the facilities were kept spotless throughout your stay. We appreciate your feedback regarding the heating in the wetroom, and just to let you know, the PIR for the heating has now been fixed. We look forward to seeing you again.

Liked Beautiful quiet location
Disliked Restricted water. I was told that the water to my pitch had been switched off "as we had only booked 1 night". The man then tried to put water from a dirty watering can into my sterile tank without asking me. I managed to stop him before too much went in but he wouldn't let us get water with our hose and so we ended up having to go backwards and forward from the one tap to our pitch with jugs and our kettle to get enough water for what we needed for the night.

Liked Beautiful quiet location with lots of nature all around. We had a lovely welcome and was shown around. We had our own personal facilities which was warm and clean. The pitch was level and very tidy, right next to one of the many fishing lakes on sight. I would highly recommend this site if you are looking for a nice quiet stay.
Disliked There's no WiFi and not a very good mobile signal either.

Liked Really friendly helpful staff who waited for us despite us being late arriving. Nice clean facilities and a coffee machine in reception. Very convenient stop off point when travelling from South to North England or the other way round.
Disliked The pitch was difficult to back into due to some fencing in the way. The pitch was described as hard standing but was overgrown with grass, which made the hard standing bit quite small. There was plenty of room between pitches though.

Liked Nice small flat adult only site in a lovely location, with a clean purpose built shower and toilet block. The pub was lovely and the home cooked food was great!
Disliked We had no email instructions beforehand and when we arrived we were quite confused where to go and what to do. We were given some short instructions eventually but would have liked some written instructions or a map of where to find things etc. Toilets and showers are quite basic and could do with an update. Howling dogs were a bit of an issue, however there's nothing the site can do about that but it's good to be aware in case you're expecting a peaceful quiet break.

From the manager: Hi Sarah Thank you for taking the time to write this solid review Im so glad you appreciate our Adult only site and the facilities we provide. It is also great to hear you loved our 16th Century Inn & our home cooked food. I do sincerely apologise regarding the unusual lack of a welcome, when you arrived, to show you where everything is. I have taken the feedback on board and we are working on a welcome email that each customer will receive prior to their stay and also a welcome letter for when you arrive. We have started to put up more signage too. Our toilets have hot showers (FREE), recently regrouted and new shower curtains installed, new sensor lights, new toilet roll dispensers put in, electric hand dryers & new soap dispensers put in - not sure what else to add to satisfy your expectations. Thank you for understanding our situation with the local kennels - I will pass your feed back to the owners Cheers Matt & Team

Liked Nice level tidy site with good amenities. Great place to stay for a family, with a games room, garden play equipment and a locked gate. Beautiful countryside with lots of lovely places to visit.
Disliked The site is near to a very noisy road. It's a small site and can be noisy near the games room, so probably not great for people who want a quiet place to stay. Toilets and showers are in sheds with gaps in the wood, making you feel a bit exposed. There wasn't enough toilets and showers, and we had to queue to get to a basin at times. At night the lights went off when we were in the shower/toilet and we had to run outside to make the lights come back on.

From the manager: Hi Sarah, Thank you for your review and feedback on our campsite. Positive or negative, we appreciate it, as we always like to know where we can improve. We’re so sorry you felt the site was too noisy for you. When you came we had some lovely families there, all just making the most of the little sunshine we’ve had this year. We did have free pitches and would have been more than happy to move you if you had requested this. We are on site everyday and a member of staff lives on-site, any problems can be quickly spoken about and addressed, it’s such a shame you felt you couldn’t speak to us whilst you were there. We have a 24/7 phone number for any emergencies also, we’re always ready to help. We saw you a few times whilst we were cleaning the pods and lodges, perhaps you didn’t recognise us as we are the cleaners too 🙂 Regarding your point about the showers, somehow the sensor for the light had been moved around so it wasn’t picking up any motion whilst you were in the shower. Please accept our apologies and thank you for pointing that out; we really do appreciate it. Also, we are just wondering if you saw the second shower block? It’s located at the bottom of the site, which you can see on the site map. We have investigated the ‘gaps’ in the wood. There were 2 very small gaps, but you can’t see through them. We filled them anyway for everyone’s peace of mind. Again, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. At any point, all of these issue’s could have been dealt with straight away by asking in person or by calling the number 😊 Again, we’re so sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. But we hope, knowing we’re always there to help, you’d reconsider staying again. Kindest regards Matt and Natalie

From the manager: What can I say! I am speechless. No disable toilets or showers For Gods sake we are a CL site on a unique rare breeds farm. You should think yourselves lucky you had a toilet let alone a shower. We normally just hose guests off like we do the cows and let them wild pee and poo in the barns with the cows Gives everybody that real experience of being on a farm. Would suggest you need to choose your sites carefully and don’t include CL sites. Have you tried Butlins or Pontins, you don’t even have to tow a caravan. Surprised you did not mention the country lanes. Note you won’t be visiting again. GOOD! Norman Coles Farm Owner and head of public relations and customer services Roundoak and Kings oak farms
