What customers say

This clean, well-kept campsite boasts friendly staff & great amenities, like coffee/milkshake machines. Enjoy beautiful riverside walks, water sports, and exploring Bala. Most enjoyed their stay, though some found midges, had vending machine glitches, or wanted more washrooms at peak times. Good value, many would return.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Well cleaned toilets and facilities
Plenty of washing up basins
Running stream next to our pitch made me sleep like a dream!
Shop on site that had essentials and snacks etc
Friendly staff

Disliked My only gripe was the shower but it’s really just a little moan; the water was BOILING hot with no temp change knob, there was nowhere in the cubicle to put your clothes so you need to put your stuff outside on a bench where things could be taken and have to be naked outside the shower cubicle to grab your stuff. It was a good shower though really, just a little change in the design would have made it go from a 6/10 to a 10/10
It was on the expensive side too I feel
£6 to pitch a gazebo, which was our most expensive site to do so, on quite uneven ground which sloped down quite a lot making the kitchen setup completely tilt
£4 for a dog, double what we paid for elsewhere, and some places are free

Liked Peaceful, the guy on reception is friendly and did sort the WiFi eventually.

Disliked Soon after we arrived the reception closed, the WiFi didn’t work and we had no phone signal.
After speaking with other people, they said it happened every night.
After I’d spoken to reception once it opened the next day they reset the WiFi and it worked.
Toilets need cleaning regularly

Local attractions

Tyn Cornel Camping is in prime position for exploring Snowdonia National Park, whether you're after an active holiday in north Wales or want to chill in spectacular surroundings with occasional trips out to local attractions. For active types, the National White Water Centre is metres away; the river rapids run past the site and a river access ramp is on site. If you've never tried whitewater rafting before this is the place to do it, as well as to tackle kayaking or canoeing year-round. For more action, Surf Snowdonia, Zip World and Bounce Below are all a short trip away. Walks? Pick from an easy riverside walk straight from the site, the craggy local peak of Arenig Fawr, or ascents like Snowdon or Cadair Idris within easy driving distance. For biking, some of the UK's best-rated mountain biking trails including Coed y Brenin and Penmachno are within a 30-minute drive, while for road cycling the area is filled with quiet, winding country roads, some stiff climbs and consistently fab views. Family cycling trips can be had at the Mawddach Trail, Llandegla or Llyn Brenig. The Tyn Cornel team also highly recommends castles including Harlech Castle and Criccieth Castle on the coast; the local narrow-gauge railways with spectacular views including the famed Snowdon Mountain Railway and the local Bala Lake Railway; the Italianate setting and buildings of Portmeirion village; the local ales, pub food, takeaways or fine restaurant meals in Bala; Michelin-starred fine dining at Tyddyn Llan or Llandrillo…
