  • Family park close to Poole, Studland and Sandbanks
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, amusement arcade, play areas and kids' clubs
  • Bowling, crazy golf, ice cream parlour, restaurant and clubhouse
Sandford Holiday Park is an apt name for this park, which has acres of Britain’s best beaches within easy reach… From its peaceful Holton Heath woodland setting, it's just a short journey to the wide sands of Studland and Sandbanks, as well as lively resorts such as Bournemouth and Poole – all of which are within a half-hour drive. Boredom's not an option here, where the activities include a summer outdoor and indoor pool complex, a dedicated musical play pool for toddlers, courts for tennis and many other sports, bikes and pedal go-karts for hire, and nature trails crisscrossing the site. Still standing after all that energetic stuff? Then go swing’n’rolling at the bowling, or take the kids around the jungle-themed crazy golf and reward the winner with an extra scoop at the site’s ice cream parlour. The park also has three different kids’ clubs, banded by age to make sure top fun is had by all (even the harder-to-please teens should be mildly interested by the film-making and DJ workshops… plus the free wifi on site). Young’uns should also enjoy the indoor soft play zone and two outdoor play areas, with a pirate ship and a climbing wall as well as the usual playground paraphernalia. Recharge your batteries at the fish and chip shop or the Arena restaurant, which serves Costa coffee as well as pizzas and lots of other family-friendly meals. Then top it all off with a trip to the Limelite Club for family entertainment, cabaret and competitions from the sparkly Troupers: you should sleep well after that lot…

What customers say

This large, well-kept site offers kids' activities & pools. Praised for spacious pitches, clean facilities, & friendly staff. Some found touring toilet/shower blocks needing upkeep (hot water/flushing issues). Food good but pricey. Site busy, some noise.

Liked I was with my family, pitch was under a tree so had extra shade

Disliked Everything has gone downhill, been here multiple times. It was dirty in toilets, they were blocked and cold showers. Other people there were partying and singing loudly at 3am, and nothing was done to stop them. Had to book everything, huge queues. Will not be returning

Meadows powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The showers were good, the chicken take away was good value and the arcade was good

Disliked The outside pool wasn’t open all day, and when it was you couldn’t get in as everyone wanted to use it, the fish and chip takeaway was a rip off for 3 cod and 3 half a dozen chips came to £45.00 their portions were terrible!
There were big rats running around the touring area!
It was too busy, With a lot of parents letting their very young kids just run riot, looked like out of sight out of mind, even while moving of the site the kids were running in the way, didn’t see any security anywhere

Liked A great welcome from all the staff. Great sized pitch, loved the fact there was hedges either side. Wonderful park, had great fun playing crazy golf & the 2p machines in the amusement arcade. The showers & toilets were spotlessly clean no matter what time you use them. Plenty of hot water. Good food at the on site restaurant.

Disliked A hedge along the rear of the pitch would be better. We didnt like the "vacate the pitch by 10am" why so early especially as the next person cant arrive until 2pm.

From the manager: Hi Deborah,

Thank you for taking the time to share such lovely feedback. We’re delighted to hear you received a great welcome from the team and enjoyed your pitch, the facilities, and the entertainment on park. It’s especially nice to know you found the showers and toilets consistently clean and that you had fun making the most of the activities and restaurant.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the hedge on the pitch and the 10am departure time. Feedback like this is really helpful and will be shared with the relevant teams as we continually review how we can improve the guest experience.

Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you back to Sandford again soon.

Local attractions

It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s spectacular surrounds, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your 'must-see' list). Dorset is jammed with attractions to suit all interests. History buffs might fancy clambering around Northe Fort or scaling the ramparts at Corfe and Portland castles. The Adventure Wonderland family theme park has thrills for kids of all ages, plus a massive hedge maze to get lost in, and action men (and women) can go paintballing or drive a tank at the Bovington Tank Museum. There’s loads of fun for fauna fans, too: check out the chimps at Monkey World, swan about at Abbotsbury Swannery, visit Weymouth Sea Life Park, explore the largest saltwater lagoon in the country on the glass-bottomed Fleet Observer, or meet some farmyard friends at Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park. Drive a bit further and you can also make a day trip to Longleat Safari Park.
