Try a Ruda wakening instead: after a blissfully peaceful lie-in, take a gulp of fresh, clean air and stroll a few steps down to the golden sands and sparkling waves… Ruda Holiday Park sits right alongside the sweeping sandy surfing beach of Croyde Bay on Devon’s Gold Coast. Croyde is a popular destination for surfers, and it’d be rude not to have a go while you’re here. Guests can hire a variety of boards, wetsuits and other kit from Ruda Holiday Park’s dedicated surf shop, and instructors from the renowned Surf South West school are on hand if you want lessons. If the weather isn't playing nice, head for Ruda’s tropical indoor pool complex, where there are water rapids and underwater geysers, waterfalls, hydrojets and one humongous slide. This site is great for kids of all ages, with the children's club, adventure playground, indoor soft play area, tennis court and activities like 'tots and tunes' or character dining (this last one's during high season only). There's also a good choice of on-site food options, including a beach café and an ice-cream parlour, plus a sprightly schedule of evening entertainment, and comprehensive essential amenities.

Great spot near the beach/town. Staff are friendly, pitches roomy, good amenities. Facilities generally clean, though some showers could use an update. Pool & entertainment are a hit with families. Can get a bit noisy/busy.

Disliked Some on the staff need to be a bit more welcoming on arrival.The man that eventually spoke to us at check in was miserable,there was no welcoming on arrival.Just said the pitch number and walked off.There were signs leading us to the touring park but there was nobody so we could check in.Then sent across to the Burrows with no pitch number.went bk to main reception to the not so happy chap who really didnt seem happy to be checking us in.

Liked Toilets, showers washing up block , first class and clean.

Disliked The number on my pitch had gone so I had to go by what the others had written on them.

Disliked How close people feel they need to park next to even though they should park in between the 2 posts.
Also the wall behind us was used by the young lads in the field behind us as a short cut

Liked Food and drinks were reasonably priced for a place with a captive audience. Food surprisingly good, breakfast excellent and on a daily deal for two. Indoor pool lots of fun. Entertainment staff entertained, and Mrs J won at bingo 😁

Disliked Toilets showers not as bad as described in some reviews, but I wasn't there in the height of the season. A refit would be help here, attendants frequently cleaning, but well you can't polish a t*** ! Wi-Fi is pay to use, but didn't bother as no signal evident on the burrows side of the road.

Liked Facilities were clean and spacious and the staff were friendly. Didn't get to have a fire because of the dry weather but that's not their fault at all. Pool was nice and the arcade was decent too.

Disliked How loud it was with the club nearby, I think it needs to be specified that music will be playing loudly until around 12am on the beach nearby. Teenagers were rather annoying turning up at 11pm so I think the gates should be secured past this time so that people can't come onto the site really late.
