What customers say

Oak View Holiday Park: tranquil, well-kept, with friendly staff. Praised for spotless facilities, roomy sites, and nice woodland walks. Family-friendly, great for exploring Kent. Some note road noise & spotty Wi-Fi. Management addresses feedback.

Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Toilet and showers lovely and clean. Love the idea that the toilet and showers were in the same room. The shower block has a door on the outside so the interior is kept warm. The guardian was very nice and took the trouble to explain everything to us, toilets , electrics, sanitaries. Campsite was clean and tidy and well looked after.

Disliked Couldn't find the place to empty waste/grey water.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much Michael for leaving us such a kind review and its lovely to know that everything was good for you.

Regarding the grey water disposal:

We do have 3 service points around the park with a grey water standpipe and drain at the back. These are for emptying pull along waste water tanks. I am afraid we no longer have a drive over disposal point for motorhomes.

We would really love to see you again next time you are in the UK. Safe travels. The Oak View Team. 😊 🌳

Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked I have just come back from another 2 night break, this is my 3rd stay this year I just love this place, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and the showers and toilets are always clean and tidy, love the woods where you can walk your dog from the site and the squirrels are always about in the trees surrounding the park, you can hear a little road noise but it’s such a lovely place and very easy to get to with lots to do in the area, Leeds Castle, Moat park and the beautiful white horse wood country park all about 15 minutes away.

Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Thank you so much for that very kind review. We love it when customers keep returning, it's awesome to have all our "regulars" and so nice to get to know you all. Since I started this job I have made some nice friends and it shows that we are hopefully doing things right when people return.

See you again soon! The Oak View Team. 😊 🌳

Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice small campsite. I liked that the owners phoned to check we were still coming and they greeted us upon arrival to show us our pitch. Was very lucky to be put with the other 2 parties we were camping with so were all together. I also liked they had a burger/fish and chips van on the Saturday night.
The toilet blocks were clean and like the fact there were 4 family cubicles.
Had an electrical issue which was resolved promptly by the team.
The small window of no rain we were able to play games in the middle of the green.

Disliked The weather! Rain all weekend which was no ones fault. However, we were allowed to put a gazebo up so was able to sit in there with all of us.
One minor thing I didnt like, was we were right next to the toilet waste, and when the wind blew we could smell it. Maybe could do with a lid? However didnt spoil our weekend.
WiFi was hit and miss but think we were the furthest away from it. And actually was quite nice everyone not being on their pho es all weekend.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much Kelly for taking the time to write us a detailed review, that's awesome. It did rain didn't it, which of course is the law in England on August Bank Holiday weekend.

The wifi was never going to be great with a full park and the Military Oddysey going on at the show ground but it is free. We will take your suggestion on a lid for the service point into consideration. They are emptied regularly.

We wish you happy travels. The Oak View Team. 😊 🌳

Powered grass campsite

Liked A lovely welcome to the site, we were shown round our pitch and facilities.

The quality and cleanliness of the toilet, showers and washing up area. Thought the washing machine and tumble dryer a good idea.

The site was well maintained, flat, clean and well organised with good water and electric supplies.

Site staff and other site users were friendly and respectful. It was quiet, with a feeling of being out in the forest with all the lovely trees around and nearby walks. There's a shop and pub nearby too.

One of the better sites we have stayed at,would definitely recommend!!

Kara T. 1 review

Powered grass campsite

Liked Lovely location, super friendly staff. Very accommodating .

Disliked Dislike is a strong word...as the site is car free, there is limited parking avaliable for all the cars, and then people park anywhere and then looks messy.
Showers are good, clean etc. However limited temperature control, so when hot its hot!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you very much Kara for your kind review. We are pleased that you liked us. 😊

Regarding the cars......We have the whole top field for our customers to park in on busy weekends as well as our parking. This what happens; I ask every single customer to take their car to our overflow car park. As soon as I go home, all the cars come back in again. Yes, it does look messy and I spend a lot of time going around asking customers to put their cars up in the car park. Unfortunately, I cannot force customers to do this, only request and there always those who take no notice. This was worse this weekend because of the rain, some people don't want to have to walk to their car in it.

I have taken your comments into account re: temperature of the showers and we have turned the boilers down. Now we will get complaints that they are too cold.😂

We would love to see you again. The Oak View Team.😊🌳

Local attractions

Oak View Holiday Park is in prime position to traverse the best of Kent's countryside, coast, castles and well-known gardens – with Essex and its coast easily accessible too just to the north. Plenty of pedalling and perambulating opportunities are around the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as the 153-mile route of the North Downs National Trail through from Farnham to Canterbury, passing the White Cliffs of Dover. This takes in the 119-mile Pilgrims' Way, the supposed route of Thomas Becket from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral. Elsewhere in Kent, loads is on all year round in the 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens at lovely Leeds Castle (10 minutes’ drive), like free falconry displays, play areas, special events and making one's way intrepidly out of the castle maze. Also see Rochester Castle (20 minutes) on the east bank of the Medway for its 12th-century keep and stacks of historical info: the castle was sacked during the Peasants' Revolt, held for Henry III against the barons, and besieged (also because of barons) by bad King John. And of course, just next door is the Kent Showground, which hosts all sorts of events throughout the year (the most famed being the Kent County Show, which usually runs for three days in July).
