Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The location was smashing, we used it as a base for visiting Portsmouth dockyard but the beach, that was only a few minutes down the road, was a fantastic bonus.
The site was fantastic, flat, well laid out, simple, compost loos were clean and totally usable and the cold shower was great fun. It was quiet when we went but they have not crammed pitches in so even with more people LOTS of space for games and kids to run about. Really nice wooden climbing frame/slide on site too. Great communication before arrival. Met Charlie one of the owners on the first day, totally lovely and contactable if we needed anything (which we didn’t as it was all there)
I would definitely stay there again. Brilliant site ****
Disliked Some early morning noise from a neighbouring yard, not enough to stop us staying there again but good to be aware of.

From the manager: Thank you for giving other people an idea of our small campsite.
As you say it can be a great base for exploring Portsmouth. The sea has been very warm this year on the blue flag beach.
I will check with you about the noise too as I can lodge a complaint with the council. Thank you for letting me know but am pleased it didn’t mar your stay.
