Liked Loved the area it’s in, in the lake district. The pitches are so spacious for our tent box and second car with a very big gap between pitches so you feel very private and secluded

This site was perfect for me.…
Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This site was perfect for me.
During the busy summer months in the Lakes, I was looking for a peacful and tranquil site and this site provided that. Nice spacious pitches, with plenty of space between each one.
Great views to the fells which overlook Haweswater.
The community owned pub in Bampton is about 1.5 mile away, which made for a pleasant evening walk to get a pint.
Finally I would like to thank the Tom and Lauren for making me feel welcome.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. We’re really pleased you enjoyed your stay. You mentioned the peace, space and views from the site – that’s exactly the kind of camping experience we want to provide, especially when the Lakes can feel so busy in summer.
It was a pleasure having you stay, and we’re glad you made it down to the community pub in Bampton too! We’d love to welcome you back sometime.

Perfect retreat for some peace and quiet
Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This place is a little gem if you're looking for some peace and quiet and to be surrounded by nature. The pitches are incredibly spacious, it was very quiet and laid back with stunning views. Perfect location for Haweswater and the High Street range if you're planning on hiking. I came as a solo female and felt 100% at ease the whole time, absolute bliss. Bumped into two badgers running full pelt towards me on a walk to Knipe Scar just behind the campsite and sitting on my pitch watching the swallows overhead was just lovely. Great pub in the village for food. The owners were incredibly friendly and made you feel right at home. If i need to be in this area again i would definitely return. Just bear in mind there are no showers but the toilet and wash facilities were of a high standard.

From the manager: Hi Vicky,
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It was lovely to meet you and it sounds like you experienced Scarside exactly as we hoped – quiet, spacious, surrounded by nature and a little bit wild! The encounter with the badgers on the way to Knipe Scar are always memorable.
We’re really pleased you felt completely at ease staying with us on your own, and it was lovely to have you here.
As you mentioned, we don’t currently have showers. Scarside is a small, low-impact pop up campsite in a particularly environmentally sensitive location, so managing water use and wastewater responsibly places some limitations on the facilities we reasonably provide at this time.
Thank you again for finding our little corner of the Lowther Valley, and we’d love to welcome you back.
