What customers say
This campground boasts roomy, well-kept sites, many with lovely lake views. Staff are friendly, and it's handily located near town. Enjoy paddleboarding, kayaking, and a man-made beach perfect for kids. Some facilities are older and need updating, but are usually clean. Occasional noise, drainage, and rule enforcement issues were mentioned.

Liked The lady on reception was very friendly .
The pitch we had was large.
Disliked Avoid pitch 16 unless you are happy to have everyone and their dogs walk across your pitch to get to the lake even right past your caravan door. one lady let her dog wee on our pitch and when i mentioned that that wasnt nice she said its only wee.
The toilet block is very tired. when we were there the ladies and mens toilets were left full of excrement which some one couldnt be botherd to flush away.
The showers were left very dirty after been used by unsupervised children.

Lovely place
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked The atmosphere is amazing, and there are plenty of things to do, such as playing mini golf. There’s also a playground for kids and a mini beach, which we really enjoyed. The sanitary block is warm at all times. There’s a Co-op grocery store very close by, so you can leave your caravan and drive there in just a few minutes. There are also takeaway options and restaurants nearby.
P.s take some extra food for the ducks
Disliked The pitches are very close together. There was basically only one tree separating us from the pitch behind, so I could smell what our neighbours were smoking and hear their conversations, although that was not their intention.
The sanitary block is old and not very clean, with lots of spiders and cobwebs. You also have to pay 20p each time to use the hair dryer. I’m not exactly sure how it works, but it’s definitely not free.

Position…

Liked Position
Disliked Dogs off leads, although not many, but they do specify 'dogs on leads' our dog isn't friendly with other dogs,so if your dog is off lead and gets bitten by a dog on a lead because you allow it to happen......it's on you.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked What's not to like, countryside location big lake, good facilities and the little shop is a bonus, plenty of activities to book in and around the lake which we unfortunately didn't prepare for so missed out didn't make any difference to the kids, kids loved it dog loved it, already planning our next visit but we'll be better prepared
Disliked Nothing really that the site can be held accountable for

Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Neat and tidy
Within walking distance to town with pubs and restaurants
Friendly staff
Beautiful lake ideal for paddle boarding
Big pitches
Handy shop
Man-made beach ideal for children.
Nearby canal for nice walks
Disliked Showers and toilets need a little TLC but are adequate.
Rules need to be reviewed. I have no problem with kids playing ball games, using e scooters (although I could live without them) but if you're going to have rules which say they aren't to be used then that should be better enforced. The warden did regular rounds and I know complaints were made particularly about the e scooters but it didn't seem like parents were spoken to. I'm sure this is fairly isolated and it wouldn't stop me from visiting again but it was annoying. We also had a large family group with several caravans close to each other who were part of this rule breaking and who were also playing music and singing/shouting well past 11. I called the warden at 11.30 and things did settle down after that.
And this isn't a dislike- but a small onsite bar would have topped it off!
