Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Toilet block was great with good facilities. Big pitches, fully serviced. Lovely location. Great children's play area. Well maintained. Visit Thompson's fish and chips - 3 miles away for best fish & chips ever.
Disliked Some road noise. Very open site. Push button showers are a personal dislike so docked one star.

Power optional grass site
Liked Great pub, friendly landlord, good service and excellent food.
Disliked Overcrowded site and oversubscribed electricity. Fewer pitches would make it a wonderful place to stay.

Power optional grass site
Liked Lovely pub. Friendly landlord. Good food.
Disliked Pitches are too small. Had to run over next pitch guy rope to get out of our pitch. Electric supply was also over subscribed. Site is beautiful but should have 30 pitches not 42 for the space they have.

Powered gravel caravan site (large)
Liked Excellent pub with good food attached to site - the site is tucked away round the back so you can't see it's there. It's only small, but very nicely laid out.
Disliked The road can be a little noisy as people accelerate up the hill.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site
Liked Fantastic views from this site and incredibly peaceful. They have glamping pitches but these were empty and I think that added to the sense of peacefulness.
Its worth staying for the views alone, but they have all the facilities you need as well.
Disliked There's a slope on this site so you need to pick where you stay carefully and use ramps

Liked Great location & well maintained small site. Brilliantly laid out. Great showers etc. Lovely little country park with lake, cafe & walks. Fantastic!
Disliked This was my favourite site of our holiday so nothing to put here! Maybe some recycling bins?

Liked Food was great in restaurant - nice little bar too.
Disliked In dark sky area but left lights on outside loos etc all night so no chance to see the sky. Supposed to be quiet site at night but campfires & noisy people until 2am.

Prudhoe, Northumberland, England
Fully-serviced gravel caravan site
Liked Very quiet. Close to river.
Disliked Small spaces to park in. Sign to campsite only visible in one direction & no sign for reception. All in all it was fine but facilities could be improved. We couldn't find anywhere for rubbish for example. In the plus side, the pitch was fully serviced which was great.
Whatever you do don't try & get here from Prudhoe. The site is accessible via a 6ft wide bridge or via a very long detour around to another bridge several miles away.

From the manager: Thanks for your comments, Because of our parks abundant wildlife, we have found it safer and more hygienic to have only one area for recycling and rubbish, this is in plain view on the LHS of the reception area, as you enter our park, we have glass recycling, house-hold recycling and house-hold waste, all clearly marked in large commercial sized wheely bins. Apologies for not being able to see you on to your pitch personally at that time. Best wishes Adam Lee The High Hermitage
