  • Holiday park a short stroll from the sandy surfing beach Croyde Bay
  • Surfboards and wetsuits for hire; surfing lessons available
  • Tropical indoor pool, indoor/outdoor play, beach café and kids' club
Sick of being rudely awakened by your alarm clock? Try a Ruda wakening instead: after a blissfully peaceful lie-in, take a gulp of fresh, clean air and stroll a few steps down to the golden sands and sparkling waves… Ruda Holiday Park sits right alongside the sweeping sandy surfing beach of Croyde Bay on Devon’s Gold Coast. Croyde is a popular destination for surfers, and it’d be rude not to have a go while you’re here. Guests can hire a variety of boards, wetsuits and other kit from Ruda Holiday Park’s dedicated surf shop, and instructors from the renowned Surf South West school are on hand if you want lessons. If the weather isn't playing nice, head for Ruda’s tropical indoor pool complex, where there are water rapids and underwater geysers, waterfalls, hydrojets and one humongous slide. This site is great for kids of all ages, with the children's club, adventure playground, indoor soft play area, tennis court and activities like 'tots and tunes' or character dining (this last one's during high season only). There's also a good choice of on-site food options, including a beach café and an ice-cream parlour, plus a sprightly schedule of evening entertainment, and comprehensive essential amenities.

What customers say

Awesome spot near the beach, with cracking views and helpful staff. Toilets/showers could do with a spruce-up and are sometimes a bit grubby, but the pool and facilities are a hit with families. Can get busy and pricey, with a bit of noise reported.

Liked This are is really beautiful we love it

Disliked Unfortunately the park itself is not so good. Playground very poor, swimming pool fully booked, food in the pub terrible, in the shop nothing, plus food corner wasn't prepared for so many people so we couldn't order any food.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site (no pets)

Liked The camping ground was great amazing views very well kept camping area and a large pitch for the tents which was good

Disliked The showers were on a literal 2 second timer and new shower blocks had a ceiling that was basically a mirror not ideal for when trying to have a shower
Also in regards ti having to boom the pool it’s understandable but the is no signs anywhere informing that it’s something you have to do and where it says on the map to book gives the impression that it’s to book lessons and not for a day at the pool that was extremely disappointing not being able to use the pool in any of days I have stayed at the park luckily the beach was right there so just went to the beach instead but very very disappointing

Liked Toilet, shower & wash facilities were excellent. Great pitch and helpful guest services. Good value for money .

Disliked Speed ramps were quite harsh for towing a caravan, especially one in particular. The grey waste & chemical waste area could have done with a water small hose for rinsing down the containers. Having to purchase WiFi

Local attractions

Don’t miss the chance to explore the Devonshire coastline surrounding Ruda Holiday Park. Recommendations include a walk to the headland at Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with outstanding views; a saunter along spectacular Saunton Sands, and a delve into the dunes at Braunton Burrows. Croyde is a perfectly pretty village of thatched cottages, tearooms, pubs, restaurants, cafés and (but of course) surf shops. There are umpteen visitor attractions in the area, particularly for animal enthusiasts, who can come face to face with life-sized model dinosaurs and a host of their living, breathing descendants at Combe Martin Wildlife Park; practise their trout pouts on some fishy friends at Ilfracombe’s aquarium; or get hands on with the animals at the Big Sheep, the area’s most eccentric day out: sheep racing and stunt ducks, anyone…?
