What customers say
Scenic, spacious site with great views, perfect for walkers. Relaxed vibe, loads of room, good value. Basic but clean loos and showers. Most love the peace, but some weekenders found noise and queues when it's busy. Sloped sites are usual, but a flat spot's there too.

Very good basic scenic campsite short drive to to Ullswater, Helvellyn
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Plenty of space to select a pitch. Good basic campsite. Excellent access to local nature and all the wonders of the lake district. Lovely views in all directions from the site. Lavatory and showers (2 x male, 2 x female) basic but good and well stocked with consumables (I've seen much worse elsewhere).
Disliked Some signage advising of local amenities (nearest restaurants, pubs, shops, etc) would be helpful but not a major issue.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Pull up and pitch anywhere. Car near tent. On site facilities. Shower was amazing.
Disliked Got very packed and didn't appear to be enough showers and toilets to accommodate how many people were on site causing queues.
There wasn't really instructions. You don't check in or anything, just pitch up. I wasn't aware until I read another review.

A gorgeous location and easy to find - we will be back!
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked There was lots of space between the two fields, so each pitch was very large despite the site being fully booked when we stayed. The facilities were kept very clean and well stocked with toilet roll and soap, and we experienced no long wait times to have a shower. But the best part of all was the views - absolutely stunning views of Blencathra and other Lake District fells. What a gorgeous spot!
Disliked All very well explained on the information page any way, but just to note that both fields are on slopes, so best to bring levellers if sleeping in a van. As the site is close to the main road, you can hear passing cars, but nothing dramatic at all once in the tent/ van.
