Peaceful, adult-only park with good, flat sites. Showers are usually hot and facilities are clean. Handy for local sights and pubs, but some found toilets/showers limited, and electric hook-ups a bit iffy. Improvements are in the works.

Liked The peaceful atmosphere on site. Even with every pitch booked it was well quiet.
The location, a short walk to the village shop & The Crown pub.

Disliked The toilets/showers aren't the best but satisfactory. Appreciate a new shower block is under construction.

Liked Clear instructions to find pitch and lovely peaceful and dog friendly campsite!

Disliked One toilet and shower for the pitches on the right and side is quite difficult and could have been cleaner but the other toilet block was much better!

Stroll directly from your pitch to the spectacular hilltop ruins of 12th-century Easby Abbey (40 minutes’ walk), or have a ramble along the River Swale to Richmond Castle and the pebble beach at Richmond Falls (both roughly an hour). And of course, there are hikes and cycle rides for all levels of ability in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (15 minutes’ drive). Head to Foxglove Covert Local Nature Reserve (20 minutes) for the chance to spy birds of prey and kingfishers in the moorland, meadow and wetland habitats, or if stately houses are on your agenda, combine exploring formal gardens and a lakeside park at Jacobean-era Kiplin Hall (10 minutes) with a tour of the mansion’s richly decorated rooms. The likelihood is you’ll adore fussing over the camels, llamas and ostriches at Mainsgill Farm Shop (15 minutes), where you can also tuck into a tasty cream tea. Should the weather turn against you, book tickets for blockbuster films at The Station or tour Richmond’s restored Georgian Theatre Royal (both 10 minutes), still with its original stage and seating.
