What customers say
Cracking spot! Locals rave about the top owner, Emma, and the chill countryside vibes. Ace communal kitchen, spotless showers, and horses nearby are a winner. Plenty of room for the rugrats. A few blokes mentioned the slope and not heaps of loos, but it's usually a doddle with fewer campers. One review mentioned some rowdy neighbours.

Unpowered grass and earth site
Liked Such a lovely, peaceful spot. Facilities are clean and welcoming, with everything thought of. Really nice, welcoming owners. And two nice horses to admire, sharing the sights and sounds of the countryside!

Lovely place for a short stay.
Unpowered grass and earth site
Liked *Small campsite with only a few pitches so plenty of room and reasonably quiet.
*Daughter enjoyed the seat swing, seeing the horses - would’ve loved a campfire too but couldn’t because of the very dry conditions (understandable at the moment).
*Lovely little kitchen with everything we needed.
*Good, clear communication from host prior to stay.
*Clear skies for stargazing!
Disliked *1 toilet and 1 shower - would be good to have a few more (read in other reviews that this is the plan)
*Several dogs barking in nearby fields quite early in the morning (appreciate farms nearby)
*Clearer rules regarding music/noise later into the evening would be good when making booking.

From the manager: Thank you for the review, I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay. The dark sky’s are a fabulous opportunity to stargaze. There can be a short wait for the loo and shower weekend mornings when the site is full (6pitches ) I’m pleased to announce 🎉 that there is now a new compost loo next to the camping field .
I purposely don’t have advertised rules. I tailor any suggestions to guests on arrival. I’m sorry if your evening was disturbed. I have found guests to be very respectful of their fellow campers.. but I will be mindful of your feedback. Emma.

From the manager: So pleased you liked our site. Yes it’s in a great position to visit lots of l great places locally.
We run 6 pitches and when we are full on weekends there is sometimes a short wait for the loo and shower. We have just installed a new compost toilet near the camping field. We aim to add to facilities for next season, for ease of our guests.
Perfect little campsite and a bonus if you like horses!
Unpowered grass and earth site
Liked An excellent campsite! Small but perfect. Superb kitchen facilities, hot shower, beautiful views. Spotless toilet, sink and shower. Enthusiastic friendly owner who showed us around the stables and was great with kids. Emma showed my niece how to brush and comb the horses. Recycling which is always good to see.
Disliked Nothing to dislike!

Unpowered grass and earth site
Liked Very quiet/sleepy campsite, fantastic communal kitchen space and facilities (washing machine, crockery, microwave etc), nice warm shower. Very clean. Safe for the children to run wild. Can only have a few tents/vans as it’s on a slope
Disliked Very uneven surface (field previously used for horses). Only 1 toilet and 1 shower (Plans to extend)

Liked We had a lovely 2 night stay here. Campsite was lovely, being a small site was amazing as there was plenty of space so you had your own privacy. Best shower I’ve ever had camping, toilet was clean and also had a kitchen set up with everything you could need. Host was lovely and gave great advice of places to visit. Will
Definitely be coming back again next year

Liked Really cozy campsite. The owner Emma is lovely and super welcoming. Horses in the field are so sweet. The communal firepits are a great idea. The kitchen and bathroom are really good. Loved our visit 10/10
Disliked The only thing I could fault is that an extra toilet would be handy :)

From the manager: Thank you Christopher, I’m pleased you enjoyed the fire pits with your son , it’s what campings all about .
With only 6 pitches the site has does have a cozy feel .
We are working on a second loo, but limiting ourselves to just 6 pitches makes sure any waiting is minimal.
Thanks again !
Emma .
