Top hosts, cosy, well-equipped pods for a peaceful farm escape with animals. Good base for exploring, though minor fridge and water issues noted. Kids' sleeping arrangements being sorted.

Camping pod
Liked Absolutely stunning location, easy to get to great staff on site, lovely clean cabin with everything you need to get you going
Disliked The only thing I will mention was water was a little brown but assuming with it being a farm it will be and shower loses pressure but really can’t complain

Liked Where do I even begin? This place truly deserves 11 out of 10 stars! ⭐ From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was absolutely perfect. The glamping pod was spotless, cosy and equipped with everything we needed. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, and we loved meeting the sheep, pigs and horses. Our dogs had the best time too! The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. This is honestly one of the best places we've ever stayed, and we'll definitely be back. A really nice relaxed alternative to camping
Camping pod
Liked Really good communication from the owner, lovely warm welcome. My daughter loved the farm animals. The space around the pods is great, for just a nice setting / view but also space to walk the dog and play around. Pod was well equipped and cosy, with nice touches. Great location for visiting Bakewell and Chatsworth.
Disliked Nothing really, got a bit warm and stuffy in the heat. Would have been great to have wifi, but were aware that it wasn't available

Camping pod
Liked I stayed in one of the pods with my 10-year-old daughter for a couple of nights. I only wish we'd booked a longer stay!
The pod is surprisingly spacious inside and much bigger than it looks from the outside. It's like a tiny house, with everything you could need: a kitchen, a comfortable bed,, sofa, TV, and even an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and shower. We loved the cosy, rustic feel, cleanness, and the super comfy bed.
Outside, there's a deck with plenty of space to enjoy breakfast, as well as a large picnic table and bench next to the pod.
The farm itself is wonderful, with some of the cutest, well-cared-for animals - even a rescued deer.
There's also a little farm shop on site, selling delicious local produce. We especially enjoyed the fresh milk from the vending machine outside. I'd highly recommend trying it, even if you don't usually drink much milk! It tastes so much better than shop - bought.
What really made our stay so special, though, was the wonderful couple who own the farm. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
Thank you both for such a lovely stay. We can't wait to come back!

A cozy home away from home…
Camping pod
Liked A cozy home away from home Glampod tucked away on a private corner of a working farm. It has all the necessary comforts with a well stocked kitchen, crockery, fridge/freezer, clean bathroom and comfortable beds. You can also enjoy the complimentary fresh bottle of milk on arrival, marshmallows at the fireside and/or BBQ your burgers from one of the many nearby local Farm Shops in the area. They have just started their own Farm Shop as well which hopes to provide local staples from around the community (Slate House Farm Fresh eggs on request!). The outside patio of the Glampod was quite nice to enjoy fireside book reading while also taking in the peaceful beauty of the site. Positively a dog friendly accommodation so my Border Terrier could join in on the adventure too and he also enjoyed a restful visit. Owners were attentive to our needs checking in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Location wise Slate House Farm is quite ideal for treks out to the various National Trust sites in the Peak District and exploration of Chesterfield and Bakewell. Was also only 15min way from the Chesterfield Dog Park secure field so my dog could stretch his legs after a long journey. Overall a delightful visit which we hope to return to again to enjoy relaxing in the Peak District.

Camping pod
Liked Pods are brilliantly set up, with bedding, towels, cutlery etc all included. You can just rock up and chill! Lovely setting, calm and relaxing but lots of space for kids to run around and play and expend some energy! The owners have made some brilliant improvements over the past year (this was our second visit!), with seating areas, ping pong table, a second field for games and even an onsite shop! Loads to do around, clear instructions on arrival and very friendly and helpful owners.
