  • Rural Bedfordshire site with 100 acres of parkland
  • Golf and horse riding 20 minutes’ drive; Santa Pod Raceway 35 minutes
  • Lakeside café, bar and restaurant; hot showers in the clubhouse
Set in 100 acres of landscaped parkland, the pitches at Box End Park should be a nice pick for sporty families. The site has two purpose-built watersports lakes filled with natural spring water, which can be accessed if you book onto a scheduled open-water swim or watersports activity. No worries though if you’d simply prefer to relax lakeside and enjoy the peaceful rural Bedfordshire setting. Activities to be booked separately and enjoyed on site include the giant floating aqua park, open-water swimming, paddleboarding, cable kneeboarding and cable wakeboarding. Out of the water, you can try frisbee and football golf, or the lakeside running-and-nature trail. All the pitches are on flat, well-drained grassland, and the site has its own dedicated toilet block with washing-up sinks. Free hot showers are located in the main clubhouse and are shared with the water-sports facilities. When you need to refuel, there’s a bar, restaurant and café offering a range of catering throughout the week (the café is closed in winter and the restaurant on Mondays). Barbecues are permitted off the ground at the pitches, but no campfires please. This is a quiet family site with a strict no-noise policy after 10.30pm, so perhaps it’s not the place for you if you’re after a wild nightlife – having said that, the historic market town of Bedford is only 15 minutes’ drive away, with its healthy helping of pubs and restaurants.

Unpowered grass site

Liked I love it here, always a friendly welcome when checking in, large pitches, shower block always spotless along with area to clean pots and pans. Plenty of activities to enjoy for the adventurous or just sit back and enjoy the sites and sounds of the park also lovely walks on offer. I live 10 mins away and it feels like i'm the middle of the country side, for those travelling from afar supermarkets, petrol stations and a well stocked butchers are in kempston only a short drive away. Every time we have been everyone respectful of the camp rules. Free WiFi, never had issues with it. Will we be back, absolutely. 😀

Liked Good size pitches. Showers clean. Good options for water sports on site. Close to a lidl supermarket.

Disliked A little noisy at night. No on site shop. A small children’s playground would be nice for toddlers.

Power optional grass site

Liked We loved this camping trip, could do water sports, shops & pubs are only a few minutes away so was good when we needed tent pegs! 🤣 Red lion pub done outstanding food! The shared toilets and shower block was absolutely spotless and the washing up area behind the block was also clean!

Disliked It would of been nice if they done a little free area for only campers to swim/paddle would of stayed on site more. And also a play park for campers only.

From the manager: Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our campsite and we're sorry to hear that your stay didn't quite meet your expectations this time round, as that's certainly the opposite of what our team strive for. Just to go back on a few of the points raised ...

- Our shower and toilet facility does offer hooks on the back of the doors to hang clothes whilst you're having a shower and are cleaned twice daily by our housekeeping team. If you have any issues during your stay please do raise this with the campsite reception team so we are able to resolve this on the day for you.

- The electric card costs £5 for the deposit which is refunded in full back to you at the end of the stay, so we can use this for the next person camping on your pitch. We can see that the card was returned back to our team and your £5 deposit has been refunded back to you.

- Our campsite WIFI is included at no extra cost for our camping users and there is a code within your campsite welcome pack. If you have any issues with the wifi during your stay, please do let us know so our team have the opportunity to help resolve this for you.

Wishing you a lovely summer and we do hope to see you here with us again soon.

Liked Nice pitch, I was only there for one night to attend a gig at Tofte Manor. Taxi back from Bedford train station was £11
Toilets and showers were spotless..

Disliked I was the first pitch in and there was quite a lot of cars coming through until around 1 a.m. soot was noisy. Gates were supposed to be closed at 10.30 but they were still open when I got back at 11.30

Liked Good sized pitches. Nice, open environment. Nice clean facilities. restaurant and bar on site very good. Great customer service.

Disliked The apparent "resident" population was a little off-putting. They did not cause any concern, but cosmetically was not comfortable.
