Plans to build a new tourer park in Monmouthshire have been shelved, after local councillors voted against the proposed developement due to concerns about a local road.
The plans for the 30-tourer park at Tredegar Farm, Devauden, were waiting for the go-ahead from council officials, but have now been rejected because of the ‘notorious stretch of road’ to the planned site.
Council officials expressed concern about the dangers of placing a caravan park in close proximity to the B3245, where three people have already been killed, with councillor David Dovey describing the planned development as a ‘recipe for disaster’.
