Negativ I know there's nothing the hosts can do about it and they make it very clear before booking, but the train line is very loud. However, we fetched earplugs and it was fine.

Positiv Everything! The site is in a great location with incredible views, and everything is clean and tidy. The cabin itself is immaculate and has lots of lovely features like lighting and a heater and kettle. The pizza truck on Saturday night was excellent, and saved us cooking. The site owners really go above and beyond to provide extras that make a difference like a freezer (with honesty box for ice creams), pot wash area, a car-free site, suggested walks and days out, and WiFi.

Positiv Everything! Shepherds Hut was warm, clean, well-maintained and cosy. The small details like the kettle, toaster, tea and coffee sachets, table and chairs and others really made the experience feel much more luxurious than we expected for the (very reasonable!) price. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the on-site shop is lovely and there's lots of green space for kids to run around.

Negativ Nothing really! I could foresee problems in busy seasons due to there being only one toilet and shower but we didn't struggle.

Positiv Beautiful, flat and well-maintained campsite, easy to find and in a lovely location. It's just a 10-minute walk to Our Cow Molly, which does amazing ice creams and also has a refrigerated vending machine open from 8am-8pm that sells milk, bacon and more lovely fresh farm items. Toilets are basic portaloos but were clean and always had loo roll. The drinking water was clean and fresh.

Negativ Being on a hilltop, the views are excellent but it's quite windy. But it's worth it for the lovely scenery.
