A paintball game may be the lynchpin of your stay here, but if you’d like to stretch out your stay a little bit then there are plenty of other activities to try out in the area. You may like to dial down the activity a little with a leisurely rural walk – or perhaps keep the adrenaline going by climbing up to the treetop trails at Jumping Forest Chenoise (half an hour’s drive). Dip into the area’s history by seeking out some of the area’s various dolmen and visiting the troglodyte houses at La Postolle (25 minutes). Rather grander places to visit include Château de La Motte-Tilly (20 minutes) and the regal Château de Fontainebleau (an hour), surrounded by a vast forest. Another nice way to spend a few hours is to take a stroll around Troyes (35 minutes), looking out for Gothic churches and half-timbered houses in its well-preserved medieval centre.
