Loch Ness Highland Resort

Positiv The location was nice with good pitches for touring/motorhomes. The ground varies for pegging in awnings so test beforehand. Easy accessibility with plenty of manoeuvre room and facilities centrally located.
Small works being done to the facilities and some pitches but doesn’t effect you in any way.
Facilities were clean and updated, I seen a lot of reviews saying otherwise however this is a very nice site and I’d highly recommend, don’t be discouraged by the negative reviews.
Cafe on site and gym, hardware shop and Spar 10 min walk off site.
Didn’t see many staff but as touring we tend to be left alone which I prefer however if you need them they are about and a number is supplied.
See also about a review saying about lighting around the site, its dark yes and good no one wants light pollution bring a torch suppose to be campers?

Negativ If I had to be picky, some toilets lights were out and toilet roll other than that was a great site.

Positiv Nice welcome from Kelly. Great location in Fort Augustus.

Negativ Facilities were very disappointing. Toilet paper dispensers didn’t work properly. No hand dryers or paper towels. Facilities were dirty. Waste bin by the wash-up was full and overflowing onto the ground. Half the showers and toilets were closed and locked.
Laundry facilities were dirty and one machine was broken.
The cabins and resort facilities looked nice. The camping facilities are an afterthought and should be improved to make the overall site the nice place it should be.

Negativ Toilet and shower facilities we very basic and out of 8 toilets only 2 were open. They were filthy and no lighting in them. Bins were not emptied all weekend.
Lighting throughout the site is appalling when walking at night

Negativ Looks like the site is having work done, we wasnt aware of this before arriving, we arrive to a letter saying to go anywhere on the touring eletric bit, the bins was massively over flowing people was putting all the bottles next to the full bins. The toilet and showers wasn't great alot wasn't working or locked and the ones that was there wasn't lights in so needed a torch if was going in the evening there was 2 that has working lights the facilities wasn't cleaned once whilst we was there the toilet roll Dispenser didn't work in any of the toilets so do take your own. We didn't see any members of staff the 3 days we was there. Wasn't a great stay ashame as it could be a brilliant site within that location as the location is beautiful

Positiv The location was brilliant for us. We were participating in the Monster the Loch race and we were just a short walk away.

Jan (Hegarty :D) was so welcoming and funny. She really looked after our group of weary rowers in the very nice restaurant.

Negativ The toilets and showers were appalling. Shower and sink drains were blocked and there were only a couple of each open - the rest were locked. One of our party complained and was told something would be done about it but nothing was. Luckily, we were in our campervan with our own facilities so we didn't need to venture in. I felt sorry for those who were camping or in smaller vehicles without their own facilities.

The camp site has a very austere and deserted feel about it with large areas of gravel and no landscaping. It's right next door to a lodge park which looks a bit like an army barracks at the moment. I think that maybe this is a new venture and I hope that they are planning to build a new toilet block and spend some money on making the camp ground more appealing.

Positiv Location, very convenient. Hard standing pitches with electric.

Negativ The toilet and shower facilities were appalling. This could be fixed with a small amount of time and care to clean them. There is one small bin which was overflowing from when we arrived at 5pm till leaving next morning.

Positiv Site was peaceful and staff were welcoming and helpful. Location was great. Views stunning.
