Geräumige Stellplätze mit fantastischem Blick auf The Roaches. Lob für freundliches Personal, saubere Einrichtungen und den Pizzawagen. Ideal zum Wandern im Peak District. Trotz begrenzter Ausstattung bei Stoßzeiten sehr positiv, Gäste möchten wiederkommen.

Toilets were clean and tidy
Negativ The noise that went on way beyond the 'advertised quiet time'. Even the presence of the camp warden did nothing to stop noise well after midnight. (Quiet time is 10pm til 7am). We left early as we couldn't sleep.
The £32 (£20 deposit) for a fire pit seems excessive. Other than money making I can't see any reason why you can't responsibly bring your own firepit and burn your own wood. Surely just supplying a paving slab you have to put under any fire pits would work.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thank you for your feedback. We’re obviously very disappointed to hear that noise from other campers affected your stay. We do have a quiet time policy from 10pm–7am and a warden on site to intervene and ensure this is adhered to. We will look into what happened on this occasion. We appreciate your comments and will continue reviewing how we manage late-night noise on site.
Regarding the firepit charge, the £32 fee includes a £20 refundable deposit, meaning the firepit, kindling, firelighter and a large bag of wood cost £12. Unfortunately, the deposit system was introduced after we experienced a significant number of firepits being taken from the site.
We also do not allow personal firepits or outside wood because, unfortunately, we have previously had ash disposed of in hedges and bins, creating fire hazards, as well as unsuitable materials being burned, including treated wood and wood containing nails. As we cannot continuously monitor every fire across the campsite, the policy of only allowing our supplied wood was introduced for safety reasons and to help protect the campsite for all guests.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback and are sorry your stay did not meet expectations on this occasion.

Positiv We had a lovely time staying at the Hollies and will definitely be back. The site is in a great spot for hiking and has beautiful views from the field, the owners were really welcoming and friendly, and the pizza van was excellent!

The large fields allow for roomy pitches. Love that the owners come round with fire pits and logs you can rent.

Positiv Good size relatively flat pitches with excellent views of the Roaches and within (a good) walking distance of 3 pubs.
Negativ For the size of the site the number of facilities is too little. Also, sound control with large parties seems little priority. It would be good to have a family only section as some parties were playing music and chatting past the advertised curfew

Positiv Choice of pitches and plenty of room. Excellent showers - hot and good pressure. Firepit is a nice option. Walking in the area is great with well signed paths and plenty of options. Pub within easy walk from site.
Negativ Road is noisy from around 6am. Next time we will aim for a pitch on the top field.
