The brains behind Camp La Belle Vie say they'd like you to feel the force of nature – and feel it you most certainly will, thanks to the site’s open countryside setting in eastern Luxembourg’s lush ‘Little Switzerland’ hiking region. Not that it’s just about the trekking here. Simply basking on the grass at this peaceful park is also a top choice – the place has been set up on a gentle slope (part of a hillside rising 373 metres into the sky), and faces south for getting the best of the weather on sunny days. Plonk yourself down and supervise the kids at the site’s adventure playground, perhaps chomping on cheese from the fromagerie a couple of minutes’ walk down the road in Berdorf as you do. Surrounded by a stunning landscape of fields and forests with rocks, caves and brooks to dawdle around, and looking out on the Black Ernz, Sure and Aesbech valleys, Berdorf’s one of Luxembourg’s main tourist centres. The scenery’s stunning whether you’re wandering close by to the Hohllay Cave and Aquatower Berdorf, both less than 15 minutes’ walk away, or setting forth for the famed Müllerthal Trail through silt marshes with soul-stirring viewpoints to stop off at. With this site as your base, you’ll be well set up for explores, and for the post-explore recovery period: there’s a shop, laundry facilities and wifi connection on site, along with well-maintained bathrooms that have both cold and hot water.

Em va agradar We liked the location, as we could walk to the local restaurants.
Good shop and bar
Very helpful staff

No em va agradar A bit untidy/unkept in areas.
Although new toilet/shower blocks the showers were very small and underpowered.
Lots of flies/bugs in the shower areas too.
Unfortunately we were next door to the playground so quite noisy at times.

Em va agradar De snelle incheck en de vriendelijke dame bij de receptie was een goed begin van ons weekendje. Staanplaats was ruim en veel schaduw van bomen.

No em va agradar Het sanitair was niet schoon. Eigenlijk gewoon vies. Alles was oud en kapot. Er kwam weinig water uit de douche en dit was ook nog eens wisselend warm en koud. Haren wassen was voor mij onmogelijk. Douche en wc werd zeer slecht schoongemaakt

Em va agradar Een hele grote plek, schaduw, bomen... Proper sanitair.

No em va agradar Weinig water uit de douche, wifi werkte niet, ook al stonden we aan het sanitair.

Em va agradar De grootte van de plaatsen was super, sanitair en afwassen goed in de buurt en ruimte genoeg op je plekje.
Perfecte ligging camping voor route B2, je bent met 15 minuten lopen op de startplek, dichtbij restaurants en supermarkt.

No em va agradar Het sanitair kan een update gebruiken maar qua waterdruk en warmte niks te klagen. Werd netjes schoongemaakt. Enkel de dames toiletten gingen 3/8 hokjes niet op slot waardoor je die niet kon gebruiken helaas

Em va agradar Friendly staff in the reception with easy check in
A great park for the children to play on and clean facilities.
Great little town/village to walk to for cheese and ice cream and a general shop too with some nice restaurants close by.
The bar on site was nice and quite cheap too and nice tables to sit at outside with a cool unicorn thing the kids enjoyed.

No em va agradar Nothing i disliked but just Shame no pool like other sites we stayed at and they where doing some rennovations when we where there.

Em va agradar Grote plaats, broodjesservice, lekkere koffie bij het barretje, snackbar, dus alles wel aanwezig. Goede uitvalsbasis voor mullerthal route 2 te lopen. Aardig personeel!

No em va agradar Douche waren bij mij wel warm (ik hoorde naast me klagen dat het niet altijd zo was), maar de straal was soms heel minimaal. Verder wel netjes

Berdorf’s rich in things to do. Start with a wander to Hohllay Cave (15 minutes' walk), hollowed out by miners who left a scarred surface behind in their quest to conjure up rounded millstones. Sort tickets for a concert in this natural amphitheatre – they're on every now and again – then head over to the Aquatower Berdorf, a technology museum in a water tower with smashing views out over the green landscape (15 minutes). Once you’re back down on the ground, drive to Echternach (10 minutes), the oldest town in the Grand Duchy, and snake around the winding streets seeking out city wall remnants, the Benedictine abbey and a gothic townhouse before moving over to the lake on the town’s perimeter to rove around the ruins of the biggest Roman villa north of the Alps. From here, continue to the German-Luxembourgish Nature Park (25 minutes’ drive) to amble around the deep Devil's Gorge and pretty Irreler Waterfall.
