Have chilled-out times on the sands at Airlie Beach lagoon (five minutes’ drive) or travel a bit further on to Dingo beach and Hydeaway bay (45 minutes) to see some especially scenic parts of the coast. Like your activities more on the amped up side of things? Set off for splashy swims in the Cedar Creek Falls (30 minutes) or have hardy hikes through the national forest on the Whitsundays Great Walk. For other wandering options, head through the bush down to Shute Harbour (an hour and 45 minutes’ walk) before gliding on the water during a kayaking cruise.
