Wake up in heated glamping accommodation and drink in the views of a Central Highlands loch, take a boat out to hook a fishy supper, or settle down in the Boathouse restaurant for an evening meal… easy options at Loch Tay Highland Lodges, where you can snuggle down for some warm and cosy glamping and the best of Highland highlights. The park is tucked away high on a hill overlooking Loch Tay and stunning scenery – use it as a base for sightseeing around central Scotland and the Highlands, or do some day tripping and shopping in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling an accessible drive away. That’s if you can tear yourself off site: archery, canoe hire, katakanu hire and gorge walking are all available to book on site via Loch Tay Highland Lodges' on-site activity provider. Fishing boats are available for hire too to take to the loch and land some tasty trout or succulent salmon (the site can arrange your fishing permit). Some accommodation options at Loch Tay have their own cooking facilities; if yours doesn't, you'll have access to a fully-equipped campers’ kitchen so you can fry up your catch: there’s a sitting room too to catch up with other guests. Other facilities on site include paid wifi and a play area.

No em va agradar The domes were dingy and felt really run down. There was duck tape covering rips and tears.
Our alarm went off at 6am and we tried phoning the site warden 5 times for help without any answer.

Em va agradar Lovely location, friendly staff, generally good facilities. Dog friendly!

No em va agradar The shared showers had nowhere to put my clothes whilst I showered (other than next to the sink) but I fed this back to staff and they seemed keen to address it. Wifi isn't free but not so expensive at £5 a day per device.

Em va agradar Very friendly helpful staff on arrival. Lovely peaceful location. Dog friendly with good amount of walking areas away from other campers. The pod was well equipped , comfortable bed . Very near by were great kitchen and eating area along with very clean shower , toilet facilities. The walk down to the lock was steep in places but the views were tremendous.

Em va agradar La localisation du complexe est dépaysante et la vue juste incroyable.

No em va agradar Selon les options choisies le pod peut être assez rustique ( ex le pod est pour 4 mais les draps inclus ne sont que pour 2 couchage! Prévoir ses draps ou les louer mais le prix est assez élevé.)

No em va agradar Not a lot to do here. Restaurant is over-priced for the food provided, which I would describe as 'meh'. Reception staff aren't that helpful. Neither are the shops within a 30 mile radius. Except for the community hub in Killin, these guys are flippin' legends. Hired a fishing boat without fishing gear, the shops that advertised fishing gear didn't bloody well have fishing gear, but the Killin hub sorted us out. Nearly ran out of petrol, the local petrol station hasnt had petrol since 'nam, but the Killin hub sorted us out. The accommodation had food remnants, midgies, and an uncomfortable bed, but I bet the Killin hub would have sorted all of that out if we had had the energy to burden them with it. All in all, not the best camping trip, but not all down to the site, and to be fair, more a product of poor planning, combined with a backwards way of life. Other people seemed to be having fun, but they may have been putting on a braver face.

The best things in life are free… Perthshire has visitors flocking to it from all over the world to soak up its spectacular scenery and wildlife, climb the peaks or ramble over its landscape. The scenic village of Killin and the Falls of Dochart are a short drive away from Loch Tay, or wander westwards to see the lochside village of Kenmore with Scotland’s oldest pub, or to pick up some worthy memories of your trip at Dewar’s World of Whisky in Aberfeldy. For somewhat more recent history, a trip to Castle Menzies where Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746 should be a Bonnie day out, as should the 18th-century Blair Atholl Castle with its gardens, adventure playground and sculpture trail. Perthshire has the River Tay as well as the loch: canter around the county for river fishing, walking and cycling the Tay Forest trails and the Ochil Hills, and the National Trust of Scotland site the Pass of Killicrankie with its river gorge, ancient woodlands and the first purpose-built countryside visitor centre in Scotland.
