A gorgeously rural corner of Somerset is the setting for Seven Acres Camping Site, which stretches over (you guessed it…) seven acres on the edge of the Longleat Estate, a five-minute drive from the town of Frome. A stream runs through the site, which is just off the B3092; this makes it easy to access, but it also means you may hear some traffic noise. A railway line runs parallel to the road, too… but you might find that the jolly whistling of a passing train rather adds to the romance of camping. It’s all about perspective, isn’t it? Regardless, forget the possible noises and accentuate the positive, starting with oodles of space and a play area with play equipment and a miniature adventure course where the kids can climb, slide and swing to their hearts’ content (while you keep an eye on proceedings from the nearby shaded bench). This is a self-check-in site, so settle in at your own pace. While you may not see them, the team is on-site daily to make sure everything is running smoothly. Your canine companion is not left behind either, with plenty of dog-friendly walks in the surrounding area. Have a go at the circular Mells Walk (10 minutes’ drive), following the course of the Mells River; or head to Clanger Wood (20 minutes’ drive), known for its bluebell meadows and colourful butterflies. Cranborne Chase National Landscape (35 minutes) has trails leading through its distinctive landscape of chalk river valleys and escarpments; this area is also an International Dark Skies Reserve, so be sure you have all you need to stay until after sundown for some spectacular stargazing.

Em va agradar The lay out of the site.

The dishwashing area was really good, and I loved the giant sinks in the ladies as these were big enough to bath dirty children in!

No em va agradar The layout of the showers in the ladies loos. No one wants to shower in there with the shower cubicles opening directly out in the main room. There is no privacy and no way to get undressed and into the shower without being naked in front of anyone using the loos or basins. And where are you supposed to put your clothes and towel if you do get in there?

It would be really helpful to put a stool in the one shower that was in a cubical with a place to change, but the floor was soaking wet because the shower curtain wasn't long enough.

Em va agradar Perfect site for families. The warden was really nice and chilled. Facilities clean. Fantastic play area and stream play.

Em va agradar Not much!! The site is nice, green space etc but the facilities are very bad and for £80 for two nights, extortionate!!!
Nearby Frome is lovely. Worth a visit.

No em va agradar £80 for two nights extortionate!! Not long back from France where a similar, very basic site would have been £10 a night MAX!!
The showers!!! Who wants to shower where others can see through the glass panel and you have to open the door to access your towel and clothes!!!
Toilets had no loo roll, which is acceptable if they tell you in advance!! Again something that should be reflected in the price!! And wasn't. We had grear expectations but were sadly very disappointed.
We would not go back.
As it is on a main road you can't either walk or cycle safely from the site. Driving is the only option.
No phone signal either..... not their fault but a fact.
Didn't see any sign of staff......entry is via a pin code sent via email on booking, including your pitch number, no human interaction..

Em va agradar Location was convenient, very picturesque site which was fabulous for kids to play.
Great for a short getaway.

No em va agradar Toilets and showers were basic and not particularly clean. The showers had nowhere to put bags/clothes etc and poor drainage so the floors were soaking. There were mats to soak up the water but this feels quite unhygienic in a communal shower/bathroom area.

Although there are plenty of signs making 'quiet times' clear, there were a lot of groups of campers shouting/screaming/messing with car headlights until nearly midnight. Obviously this isn't a site specific issue, but it massively effected the overall experience.

Em va agradar Piazzole spaziose e ombreggiate. Il signore delle pulizie molto gentile ed efficiente.

No em va agradar Non c’è un sentiero da poter percorrere a piedi con il cane. La strada è improponibile, troppe auto velocissime e nessun marciapiedi. Per comprare qualsiasi cosa bisogna spostarsi con il mezzo e quindi spostare tutto.
