Or venture north to attractions in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from National Trust-protected manor houses like Dyrham Park (20 minutes’ drive) to chocolate-box villages including Castle Combe (half an hour). Restaurants are also easy to reach on foot if you fancy dining out.
