If it’s a toss-up between sea views and proximity to popular attractions as the most important consideration for your Cornwall holiday location, you can put the coin down right now. On a hillside at the top of a family farm just outside St Austell, Boscoppa Farm Glamping and Camping has fabulous views out over Carlyon Bay, and it’s a mere 10 minutes’ drive from the Eden Project, Cornwall’s most-visited attraction. Those two things alone may well be enough to entice you, but there’s more… as this mid-Cornwall site is also handily close to both the A390 and A391 for easy outings to other favourite attractions including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Jail Attraction and fishing villages like Fowey and Mevagissey. You’re never too far from a beach in Cornwall either – and in this case there are a couple of lovely sandy stretches (at Porthpean and Carlyon) about 10 minutes’ drive away. Staying just outside St Austell is a clever move, too, putting you within easy reach of shops, places to eat and other amenities. The nearest food shops and supermarkets are about five minutes’ drive away, and you can get to the town centre in 10 minutes. Even with all this convenience, the site itself maintains a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of space to soak up the sea views. Dogs and kids are welcome, and you’ll be allowed to set up a barbecue for your outdoor meals if you like.

No em va agradar Drive up the field to the tents was awful. Car was slipping and sliding with no traction. This really put me off driving up and down and didn’t leave the site much due to the worry of driving back up. Our log burner didn’t have a collar for the chimney and water was pouring in when it rained. One of our bedside lights didn’t work and we had no light outside,. Also our bedding with damp when we got in to it. This sounds really negative however we did enjoy our stay, just a few improvements could be made to enhance the glamping experience.

Em va agradar Views in the morning and night amazing

Barrel cabin was cute and nice comfy bed
Staff lovely
Logs for fire pit if wanted

No em va agradar Electric were hit and miss
Only 2 toilet which also had shower in same area.
So if anyone in shower you couldn't use toilet.
Road to camp was rubbish road.

Em va agradar Peaceful remoteness amongst grass fields and run down traditional farmyard. Quintessentially rural Cornish

No em va agradar Tents so close together
No kindling or matches supplied. I would have appreciated this very much as didn’t need a whole bag of wood at £5 so I could have had a hot drink.

Em va agradar A hidden gem! Lovely view and such a calm and relaxing athmosphere, lovely host. Our kid spent his time running around the field and playing with other kids having a great time untill the sun set.
The road leading up to the campsite is an adventure for bigger vans, but absolutely worth the ride

Em va agradar We spent 3 fantastic days at Boscoppa Farm (one in a luxurious Emperor Tent, and two in a cozy barrel), which acted as a great base to travel around Cornwall. Lovely peaceful site with fantastic views. Instructions and facilities were great, and fantastic friendly hosts who were always at hand to resolve any issues.

The indoor and outdoor gardens are packed with plant species from around the world, and the attraction also has an imaginative play area, an adventure park and an events space that stages major musical events. Plant enthusiasts should also add several other local attractions to their list, including Tregrehan Garden (10 minutes’ drive) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (20 minutes) – or perhaps a tour of Camel Valley vineyard (half an hour). Meanwhile, for more outdoor activity, try a game at Cornwall Football Golf Park (five minutes). Dipping into the area’s heritage might take you to Wheal Martyn Clay Works, the Shipwreck Treasure Museum (both 10 minutes) or the Bodmin Jail Attraction (25 minutes). The fishing villages of Mevagissey (20 minutes) and Fowey (25 minutes) are both good places to get a sense of times gone by as well.
