Cornish beaches, busy towns and a scenic fishing village with a great story… You get it all at Mousehole Camping, a peaceful family site in the village of Paul, five minutes’ drive from Mousehole and 15 minutes from Penzance. Mousehole Camping is a prime spot to base yourself for some exploration of Cornwall: in nearby Penzance, you can pick up the South West Coast Path and the St Ives Bay Line, bringing the dog along so the two of you can call into some of the dog-friendly pubs along the route. Make your way into Mousehole and down to the harbour to laze on the beach or do as the locals do and fish… then wander the cobbled streets, nose around galleries and local shops, and eat at the fishy-focused restaurants. Back on site, Mousehole Camping is in the grounds of a local football club, where matches can occur at short notice (the site tries to minimise the disruption but bear this in mind). Guests get free entry to the football matches, where a clubhouse bar is open on match days. The facilities (a couple of minutes' walk from the main camping area) are shared with the football club and include a toilet, showers (within the changing rooms) and an accessible toilet/shower room. On match days, the shower and washing-up area are shut, while the toilets remain open, and during low season, only the accessible toilet/shower room are open (and cleaned on an ad-hoc basis). There's also wifi. Barbecues are allowed: pick up supplies from the supermarkets in Penzance or fresh fish from the port in Newlyn, five minutes away. If you’d prefer a break from cooking, stroll to the village pub for some food and drinks, or try one of the restaurants within 15 minutes of the site. Please note that this site is run by volunteers. From mid-September until Easter, there are no permanent staff on site. As a peaceful site, music should be kept to a minimum and quiet hours begin at 10pm.

Em va agradar Nothing, we leave directly when we arrived, the flags/banners on the road suggest a sober camperplace.

No em va agradar This was not a good place for us (our filter was toilet and shower) but it was more for campers which are self supporting. Also the hard grid place was terrible. The pitchprice was then the same as overnight parking

Em va agradar Location is perfect for Mousehole, 15 mins walk (note steep hill so longer coming back ) we also walked down into Newlyn ( 30 mins ) and on to Penzance , there is a footpath across fields - nice views ( again a steep hill into Newlyn ) good bus service from Mousehole (every half hour if prefer goes to Penzance. Can also get one back to Paul (1A, think was every hour ) great pub in Paul
5 mins from site . Good food .

Pitch size is excellent, flat ground and well kept.

Great WiFi

No em va agradar Showers - there is basically one great shower with a lock if you are lucky to get in .

When busy , which it was, is very frustrating

Two other private options in the referee Porto cabins (extremely small cubicle)
one has no lock
The other is out of order

Or the football communal ones - no locks or privacy.

Is such a shame as this is a brilliant location
A bit of maintenance and cleanliness it could be an excellent option - because of the above I wouldn’t return it spoilt the experience

Del gerent: Sorry Marie you didn’t enjoy your stay , yes I agree it is a bit dis functional and could do with updating, with regards to the big green bin , this is what the football players use and sadly they don’t put it in black bags that I provide.

Em va agradar Nice quiet site, lovely area a short walk to a pub and close to Mousehole & Newlyn

No em va agradar The toilets and showers are bad. Only one shower room with toilet. Another shower was in the referee’s changing room with no lock. More showers were available ( when they weren’t playing or practicing football) but these were open showers for the football team.
Also the washing up area was badly lit and although the sink/ trough was wide it was too small to fit any washing up bowl. And the water pressure squirted water all over the place. It would be a good idea if the owners tried staying a couple of night to see how bad their facilities really are !!!

Em va agradar Hard standing pitch was spacious enough and level. EHU point was very close

No em va agradar Facilities are the village football team’s and you need to enter the stadium and navigate around the pitch to access them.
Strange entry/exit system - bollard lowered by gaining the attention of someone in a caravan ‘office’.

It does state when you book that we share the facilities with the football club which is a short walk

Em va agradar I loved where it was, quiet. Walking distance to buses and a quaint little village. I didn’t need a car. The guy running the camp who we nicknamed Daza looked out for us and made us feel comfortable there. We got lots of rain and he offered us an upgrade from our tents which helped us through some weather conditions.

No em va agradar Distance to the toilets but. I didn’t really mind myself.

Please note that the access road from Newlyn is narrow. To access the site, you will need to go over a small ramp, so this site is not recommended for motorhomes over seven metres. When arriving from Penzance, do not use the road via Mousehole village, as it is narrow and unsuitable for larger vehicles. Instead, take the B3315 (Chywoone Hill) from Newlyn, which is signposted Paul and Land’s End.

Fans of BBC costume drama Poldark will find plenty to keep them occupied around here, with many names and places to recognise: Godolphin House, the mines at Botallack and Levant, and Porthcurno beach (Nampara Cove) are all within half an hour of Mousehole Camping and all worth a visit. Of course, if your passions lie less in TV drama and more in the arts, you won’t be let down – catching a show at the Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre carved into the cliffs above Porthcurno, is an absolute must. You can’t very well make a trip to this part of Cornwall and not visit the most westerly point of mainland England… Land’s End is a 25-minute drive from Mousehole Camping. Be sure to get a photo with the famed sign, and stop for a Cornish cream tea before you leave. Anyone drawn to the ocean will have plenty to do too: the top-notch surfing beach at Sennen is 20 minutes away, boat trips out to the Scilly Isles leave Penzance regularly, and the stunning St Michael’s Mount is a short walk along a causeway or an even shorter boat journey from the coast.
