Situated in the scenic Kent village of Detling, this family-focused campsite is a great place for all the family to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life and to reconnect with nature and each other. Surrounded by a protected woodland and with an abundance of trails to explore, it's easy to stretch your legs at Oak View Holiday Park and find space for your kids and/or dogs to let off some steam. Oak View Holiday Park is located right next to the Kent Showground, making this site an excellent option for attending the varied and numerous events and shows that run here throughout the year. Other top-notch attractions like Leeds Castle (10 minutes' drive) and Maidstone (10 minutes) are also easy to access. Guests staying here have access to modern and well-maintained bathroom and shower blocks (with separate male, female and disabled areas). Other handy on-site amenities include a laundry room, washing-up areas, waste disposal points and a pet shower, all of which are kept spick and span by the campsite team. Please note that only only gas, electric or charcoal barbecues are allowed, and open campfires and firepits are not permitted.

Parcel·la de gespa amb electricitat

Em va agradar Great secure access. Very clean showers and toilets as well and dishwashing and laundry room.
Even an outside doggy shower.
Staff really helpful.

No em va agradar The site is in a bit of a mobile dead zone, at least on EE.
Site WiFi could also have better coverage over the site.

Em va agradar Clean toilets, nice small forest to walk

No em va agradar To have a shop to buy charcoal, milk etc

El recomanaria als amics Hi tornaria a anar

Del gerent: Thank you very much Iris! We are glad that you liked the facilities and the walks from the park.

We have looked into the possibility of having an onsite shop before. First of all, we don't have room and secondly, when we trialled the local shop making deliveries here, no one bought anything and so it wasn't worth their while them coming along. Our last warden also set up a shop from his pitch selling charcoal and camping supplies but again, no one bought anything as the majority of our customers bring everything with them.
We do have all the usual supermarkets nearby, a shop in the village and Deliveroo and Morrisons will deliver groceries here.

We would love to see you again and hope that this doesn't put you off. The Oak View Team. 😊 🌳

Em va agradar Great welcome. Clear information given by staff. Useful info sheet/map. Pleasant campsite.

No em va agradar Lack of WiFi apparently something to do with festival in nearby field?

El recomanaria als amics Hi tornaria a anar

Del gerent: Thank you very much Patrick for your kind comments.

Regarding the wifi:
Our wifi unfortunately is affected by what goes on at the Kent Show Ground next door and this weekend they had a large music festival. We do not charge for our wifi and suggest that if customers really do need it that they bring their own portable router.

We would love to see you again, The Oak View Team. 😊 🌳.

Llocs d'interès

Oak View Holiday Park is in prime position to traverse the best of Kent's countryside, coast, castles and well-known gardens – with Essex and its coast easily accessible too just to the north. Plenty of pedalling and perambulating opportunities are around the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as the 153-mile route of the North Downs National Trail through from Farnham to Canterbury, passing the White Cliffs of Dover. This takes in the 119-mile Pilgrims' Way, the supposed route of Thomas Becket from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral. Elsewhere in Kent, loads is on all year round in the 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens at lovely Leeds Castle (10 minutes’ drive), like free falconry displays, play areas, special events and making one's way intrepidly out of the castle maze. Also see Rochester Castle (20 minutes) on the east bank of the Medway for its 12th-century keep and stacks of historical info: the castle was sacked during the Peasants' Revolt, held for Henry III against the barons, and besieged (also because of barons) by bad King John. And of course, just next door is the Kent Showground, which hosts all sorts of events throughout the year (the most famed being the Kent County Show, which usually runs for three days in July).
