If it’s a high-quality, well-managed and memorable Northumberland retreat you’re after, Forget Me Not Country Park is the place for you. On the outskirts of Longhorsley and 15 minutes’ drive from Morpeth, it’s within easy reach of some spectacular landscapes. With Northumberland National Park to the west and dune-backed beaches like stunning Druridge Bay to the east, the park has a splendid location for exploring the very best of the region. Open all year, Forget Me Not’s spacious touring pitches are designed for comfort and convenience. Site staff members take pride in maintaining high standards across the park: facilities are regularly monitored, and rules are politely but firmly upheld to preserve the peaceful, safe and welcoming environment. You can unwind on lawns handy for barbecues, with essentials available from Longhorsley village shop – there’s also a supermarket in Longframlington (10 minutes’ drive) for larger stock-ups. If you’d prefer to dine out, the on-site Prince William Bar and Grill offers dishes like fish and chips, sandwiches and indulgent desserts; there are also several excellent local restaurants within a short drive. Everything is set up for families; leisure facilities include outdoor and indoor playgrounds with a mini adventure course and soft play zone. There’s also a dedicated parent-and-baby room, a well-equipped launderette and accessible facilities in the modern amenities block. Due to the fall of the land, a few pitches may retain minor surface water during very wet weather. Depending on pitch layout and vehicle size, you may need long hoses or electric cables; the on-site team is on hand to ensure your set-up is seamless.

No em va agradar Beer not up to much unless you are keen on lager or fizzy beer.

Em va agradar Lovely, well kept site. Really helpful staff, especially on reception. Lovely pub, with not overly priced drinks and an adults only bar section. Great play area for children. Lovely clean facilities. Will be back in the summer. £1 per day for wifi with good connection.

Em va agradar Very comprehensive site with excellent facilities. Clean and quiet, and friendly staff

No em va agradar Ever so slightly over-engineered. Needed a fob to get into the park (fair enough) but then also to access the toilets and shower. We only had one which meant we had to stagger our shower times. Also at £41 to park our camper, I think charging extra for hairdryers is a bit on the nose

Em va agradar Unable to go to site as my wife was ill day before and was admitted to hospital.I phoned the site and they were very nice and give use a credit for the 2 nights we paid for to use when my wife gets better.We would like to thank the site as many places would not do this.This is how a business should be run.

Del gerent: We’re sorry to learn that some of your property may have gone missing during your stay at Forget Me Not – this is most unusual for the park and until reading your review, we were unaware of this incident.

Park security is one of our top priorities — we operate a fob-controlled barrier system, have CCTV in place, lighting during hours of darkness and we have regular patrols of the park from our grounds team and park wardens - so to learn of this incident via your online review has come as somewhat of a shock to us.

Among the highlights in Northumberland National Park are the massive sandstone Drake Stone (35 minutes’ drive) and Thompson’s Rock (20 minutes), also known as the Solstice Stone due to the hole that runs through it and aligns with the midsummer sunset. The Simonside Hills (35 minutes) are a top place for a hike, and you might spot deer and red squirrels. On a headland overlooking the North Sea, Dunstanburgh Castle (half an hour) now stands in ruins, but it must have been quite the forbidding stronghold in its 14th-century heyday. After checking out its ruined towers, walk into the fishing village of Craster (half an hour’s stroll) to sample the local delicacy: smoked kippers. Step into the past at Beamish, the Living Museum of the North (45 minutes’ drive). This open-air exhibition recreates a range of settings typical of North-East England, such as a pit village at the turn of the 20th century, a 1940s farm complete with Land Girls, and a 1950s town.
