The beaches of East Yorkshire and the long-distance Trans Pennine Trail are at your fingertips at Northorpe, a family- and dog-friendly site on the B1242 road, less than one mile from the coastal town of Hornsea. After parking right next to your pitch on a well-maintained tree-lined field, you can head to the seaside, which is a half-hour walk away if you want to swing into town to buy sunscreen and buckets and spades; shorter (about 10 minutes), if you cut through the fields. Popular for swimming and watersports, Hornsea Beach is skirted by a long promenade with family-friendly amusements like a paddling pool, the Jump Around Inflata-park and arcades. There’s also a lawn where you can stop for fish and chips. Those who are travelling without children might want to challenge themselves to hike (or cycle) along the Trans Pennine Trail (look for the marker on the promenade). You don’t have to go all the way to Southport, but with the right shoes (and the right attitude), you might make it to Hull in about four hours (one hour by bike); you can catch a train to return to the coast. Back at the site, you can shower and get ready for dinner. How does a barbecue sound? If you don’t fancy making your own meals, there are plenty of eateries and pubs serving food in Hornsea. The site also has a toilet block and a washing-up area.

Els propietaris són molt amables, les instal·lacions estan netes i la ubicació és excel·lent a poca distància a peu de Hornsea. Tot i que algunes instal·lacions són antigues o limitades (banys/dutxes), s'estan renovant. Algun soroll de les obres o d'altres càmpers. Tot i els petits inconvenients, molts el recomanarien i tornarien.

No em va agradar Toilets and showers at the moment are poor .
But and this is a big BUT new toilets are and showers were being installed whilst there and are going to be fabulous . Can’t wait to visit again .

Em va agradar The vicinity was good, within walking distance to Hornsea. The owner was pleasant and answered any questions regarding the campsite and surrounding area.

No em va agradar Toilets and showers . There are only 2 old showers and 4 toilets in total. All are worse for wear and one ladies toilets had a dodgy lock, which made it difficult to get out of.

Em va agradar Great site, very frendly, new toilet & shower block getting built. Easy enough to ealk to sea front through short cuts to the sea.

No em va agradar Currently only 1 shower but managable for us. New block will be great to fix this.

Em va agradar The host was very friendly on arrival, she made me feel very welcome. The site is clean and tidy with a lovely atmosphere. It is nice and quiet on an evening. Really enjoyed my stay.

Em va agradar Friendly staff on check in, we were running late but I rang in advance and it wasn’t an issue. Great location, 30 minutes easy walk into Hornsea. Nice site for adults. Friendly seasonal caravaners on site.
Will definitely be better when the new shower/toilet block is complete as it’s needed.

At this centre focusing on tropical creatures, you can also feed colourful macaws, and get up close and personal with insects and lizards. A masterpiece of Tudor architecture, Burton Agnes Hall (20 minutes) houses a collection of French Impressionist paintings, plus tapestries, furniture and ceramics. On a good day, though, you might prefer to hang in the grounds, which include a walled garden with thousands of plants and several gigantic games (snakes and ladders and chess among them). One of the highlights in the city of Hull (40 minutes) is The Deep, a vast aquarium in a striking angular building on the estuary of the Humber river. Residents here range from sharks and piranhas to penguins and turtles, plus tropical snakes and poison frogs.
