Beetlebank Farm Wild Camping

Em va agradar Second time at Beetlebank Farm, and very happy to return to this tranquil and beautiful spot. The addition of the very clean compost toilet is great; the dogs and I enjoyed a peaceful evening, enjoying the gradual sunset between the branches of the two graceful old pollard oaks in Geoff's lovely meadow.

There's a fantastic pub just down the road in Bramfield where we had a warm welcome, and others very close by in Westleton and Dunwich. The site is a short drive to the sea at the latter, and we had a swim in the evening and the morning, so it's ideally located if that's your thing. Thank you Geoff - hope to be back very soon, and bring the family.

Em va agradar We had a fantastic stay at Beetlebank Farm. This is the second time we've visited and the campsite has received a very welcomed toilet upgrade! The new compostable toilet is excellent, and all the facilities are very well maintained, clean, and thoughtfully looked after. The owner is approachable, welcoming, and super friendly, and has always made the effort to come over for a chat.

The site is wonderfully quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves during our stay, which made it feel even more special. It's also very child-friendly, with a brilliant tyre rope swing and an old tractor for the kids to climb on and play with, which they absolutely loved.

The location is ideal too, with beautiful beaches only around a 20-minute drive away, so it's easy to enjoy the coast while returning to the peace and tranquillity of the farm.

It's also exciting to hear about the future plans for the campsite. It’s clear the owner is passionate about creating something really special, and we can't wait to return next year when the donkeys and sheep will be in the field. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Beetlebank Farm to anyone looking for a relaxing countryside escape.

No em va agradar There wasn't any drinking water available on site, which wasn't a problem for us as we came fully prepared, but it's worth knowing in advance so you can bring enough with you.

The camping area could also benefit from a little maintenance. The grass itself wasn't an issue, but there were quite a few nettles and thistles around, the tree area, which aren't ideal if you have young children who like to run around barefoot.

This isn't a criticism of the site itself, but it was disappointing to find quite a few cigarette butts left behind by previous campers. With how dry the ground is at the moment, it feels like a potential fire risk as well as being unpleasant for families with children. Hopefully future visitors will take more care and leave the site as they found it.

Em va agradar Having gone for a solo trip it was to my delight that I had the whole camp to myself the first night!
Beautiful tranquility with a meadow in flower.
Thanks for a beautiful stay, will definitely return, maybe with the kids to play on the tyre swing.
Loved the relaxed pack up with no time to leave by, meaning I could enjoy a sunny Sunday in the field before heading home feeling refreshed.

Em va agradar Relaxed and tranquil meadow with some ancient oak trees. We had a solstice fire and listened to the owls screeching. Peaceful and just what we wanted

Em va agradar The whole site is lovely, it feels like youre camping in a farmers back garden! The pitching field is spacious enough to find a quiet corner, the compost toilet is effective and kept clean. The owner is super friendly and laid back, happy to deliver some fresh eggs and bacon from his farm in the morning too! Only thing to be aware of is that you cant safely walk anywhere as the site is on a busy road with no paths.

Em va agradar Lovely area with a brilliant pub nearby. Geoff, the host, was lovely and welcoming and everything was as advertised. A really great stay.

Great for little ones and dogs and the owners are super friendly.
Pitch wherever you like as close or as far away from each other as you’d like.
Really appreciated the water bottle on arrival it’s a great touch considering the very low cost.
Short walk to amenities and a short drive to the coast.

No em va agradar Rules on dogs needing to be on leads needs to be better enforced. I appreciate this is hard.
We had two well behaved dogs who were on leads at all times but other dogs invaded our space on multiple occasions which could have been unfortunate if ours had been in anyway territorial.
