  • Wild camping on a laidback Suffolk farm
  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Southwold or RSPB Minsmere
  • Local produce sold on site; a mile from a pub and butcher's shop
Beetlebank Farm Wild Camping is a laidback and rural pitching spot surrounded by spectacular Suffolk farmland. Set just back from the A144 and a mile from the village of Bramfield – home to a butcher's and a pub – this site is has excellent views across the countryside and is about a quarter of an hour's drive from England's east coast. The farm is a small, regenerative working farm with rare-breed sheep, goats, chickens and other livestock. There is also a small market garden and flower farm where you can buy freshly-laid eggs and farm-harvested veggies. This is a place where you can leave mod cons at home and reconnect with nature in the fresh air. The farm is surrounded by mature oak trees, bird-filled hedgerows and other rural sounds like the far-off bleating of sheep, making it a great backdrop for simple and serene breaks. Beetlebank Farm Wild Camping has well-maintained composting toilets, but there is no electricity or showers on site. There's also no drinking water tap, so make sure to bring your own or purchase water bottles from the site.

What customers say

Beetlebank Farm: quiet, back-to-basics wild camping in a lovely meadow. Campers rave about the huge space, chill vibe, and handy water supply. Loos are always clean! Great spot for Minsmere, Southwold & local villages. Bit of road noise & bumpy bits, but mostly a ripper. Top marks for nature lovers!

Unpowered grass and earth tent site

Liked Lovely quiet site, feels very safe and secure.
Great for little ones and dogs and the owners are super friendly.
Pitch wherever you like as close or as far away from each other as you’d like.
Really appreciated the water bottle on arrival it’s a great touch considering the very low cost.
Short walk to amenities and a short drive to the coast.

Disliked Rules on dogs needing to be on leads needs to be better enforced. I appreciate this is hard.
We had two well behaved dogs who were on leads at all times but other dogs invaded our space on multiple occasions which could have been unfortunate if ours had been in anyway territorial.
