Grove Farm Campsite

Em va agradar Easy self check in with all information provided by email in advance. Peaceful site with chickens roaming and scratching around and the occasional cock crow; proper farmy! Didn't use the toilets as had my own facilities so can't comment on them but fresh water, grey waste and chemical waste were all conveniently located. Was aware that there were no shower facilities when I made the booking but hadn't twigged there were no washing up facilities either (although this was not an issue for me, just something to note).

No em va agradar If you don't like chickens, insects and being woken at 4 by a Cockrel it's not for you.

Em va agradar A lovely site, very peaceful and I absolutely loved the chickens roaming! I felt well and truly in the countryside! I loved the cockerel even at dawn! I was in a motorhome so didnt need to use the compost toilets but did have a look at them and they all looked good! I did the Norfolk 100 bike ride so was perfect location ! Thanks for a great stay

Em va agradar Love the back to basics middle of the countryside feel. The free roaming chickens are adorable and we loved seeing swifts, kites and kestrels flying overhead.
The composting toilets were clean and no smell. Views over the countryside were beautiful. Trees provide morning shade so no hot tents from 6am. Sadly due to the drought no campfires allowed but absolutely understandable. Weirdly even enjoyed being woken up by the cockerels.

Em va agradar Everything, can’t say bad word about this campsite to be honest. Lovely and clean. No rubbish. Toilets are always clean. The owner called Jessica is lovely and always there to help you with anything you need. Texted her asking if any local camping shops as missing something for my gas cooker and she text back straight away and helped me.

No em va agradar Nothing amazing campsite! Plenty of things to do near by and visit. Lovely beach which is short drive away.

We have two compost toilets on the campsite and, in general, they work extremely well and receive very positive feedback. Unfortunately, over the last week we have noticed an increase in guests not using them correctly, which has resulted in some significant messes that we have had to clean up.

There are clear instructions inside both toilets explaining how they should be used, and we do our best to keep them clean and well maintained throughout guests’ stays. Unfortunately, compost toilets do rely on guests following these instructions, and when they aren’t used correctly it can cause problems very quickly.

We’re disappointed that this was your experience, but we do feel it’s important to clarify that the issue was due to incorrect use rather than the facilities not being maintained.

Em va agradar Spread out pitches, location really handy for walking into Wells (just follow the track past the train line, opposite the drive) or driving to explore the coast, lots of wildlife roundabout, owners were around a couple of times each day to restock loos if we'd needed them. Really peaceful for sitting on an evening. Cockerels were very keen to tell everyone it was a new day - 3:30 each day without fail. Good communication from owners - we needed to adjust our booking last minute and that was no issue. Thank you!

No em va agradar Composting toilets don't cope well in hot weather or when the site is busy, especially when people let their young children go on their own and they aren't a great aim 🫣. Maybe an extra couple would help if proper toilets aren't an option? Also seemed to be a few guests who were letting their dogs wander round the site which meant various poos - maybe dogs on leads with so many children playing.
