Grownups! If you seek serenity, scenery and nature-spotting on holiday, this is the Shropshire site for you. Adjacent to the mere of Colemere and set on the lake's south side, adults-only Colemere Caravan Park is in a countryside setting on five acres of wildlife-laden land with peaceful walks all around – and a quarter of a mile from Wood Lane nature reserve, which the expert folk at the BBC describe as one of the best birdwatching sites in Shropshire. Owners Dave and Ingrid have put a lot of thought into ensuring that guests are kept comfy at this peaceful and popular little site: as well as a good range of accommodation options, guests have access to a fully-equipped and cute social area, all hand-built and including a kitchen with fridge, kettle, utensils, pots and microwave. Firepits are available on request and guests can bring their own barbecues. And for keeping toasty after that, a Nordic wood-fired hot tub overlooking the lily pond is available to hire in the afternoons and evenings for four-hour periods (couples only). Picnic tables are dotted around to place the campfire food on, and the park has well-kept separate bathrooms for ladies and gents.

Em va agradar Excellent sized pitch's. Full site well kempt. Woodland canopy creates a cool walk around the lake. Perfect for dog's. Wild rabbits wandering freely at all times. We loved it.

We are disappointed to see this review, which appears to be based solely on our refusal to allow metal detecting on the site.

To be clear metal detecting is not permitted on our land and we are under no obligation to make an exception. We have a responsibility to protect the land and grounds and to ensure this is respected by all our guests.

We welcome back genuine feedback, but leaving a poor review because we would not permit an activity is unfair and misleading to potential guests.

We appreciate this must of been frustrating, but nevertheless wish you well in your future travels.

Em va agradar What an amazing site.
Owners are very very friendly and caring.
The site itself is impeccable - lots of space between tents, beautiful surroundings (the woodland walk around the lake is bliss), toilets and shower blocks were spotless. Theres even a social hub room which has an amazing place to chill and meet new people, has WiFi, TV, full kitchen, fridges to use.
Found that everyone respected the site, no noise was heard after 11pm.
We walked to Ellesmere around the lake and down the canal path, took about an hour, but so very peaceful and idylic.
There's a big Tesco in Ellesmere which is just a 5 min drive away.
Honestly couldn't find a single fault with this site and will definitely be back again.
Bravo to the owners.

Em va agradar Loved the huge space to set up across several areas. Great views. Hot tub was fab. Great walks and cycle ride from the campsite to Ellesmere and around Colemere.
Showers and toilets all good. The kitchen / lounge space was a bonus.
Would come again.

Em va agradar The peaceful atmosphere, lovely surroundings and friendly owners. Lots of easy walks with lovely views across the lakes and canals. Easy to get into the local town, Ellesmere, which has some nice independent shops, good pubs and a big supermarket.

Em va agradar Brilliant large pitch. Showers and toilets are always immaculate. A very unique community area where you can get to know your fellow campers. Its peaceful, extremely well organised and the owners ( Ingrid and Dave) are the perfect hosts. We had such an amazing time there, met some extraordinary funny and friendly people and will 100pc be back to this little oasis of tranquility .

Em va agradar Beautiful place, full of wildlife. The owners were lovely, so welcoming. The facilities were great, they were clean and very well maintained. Really was a lovely place to be.

There's stacks to do in the surrounding area, whether you want to stick close to home by foot or pedal, or drive a bit further afield to the towns, tourist attractions and landscapes of Shropshire, Cheshire and north-east Wales – the city of Chester is 40 minutes away and Llangollen on the River Dee reachable within an hour. On the doorstep, tackle the two-mile walk along the canal towpath to Ellesmere or make your way via the purpose-built circular walk and through a wooded area of rhododendrons around the mere and nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest with species galore to see like otters, lapwings and water birds. The reserve also has several deep fishing pools well-stocked with catfish and big carp; more fishing – and carp – can be had nearby at Blackmere along the towpath from Colmere. Also nearby, wander into Colemere village to see the fifteenth-century thatched cottages, listed in the Domesday Book, to Ellesmere for food festivals, regattas and boat rides on the mere, or drive to Rednal Karting, Paintballing and Laser for an exciting time ten minutes away. Castles including Chirk and Whittington are a doddle to drive to too. If being on the water is your thing, a narrowboat marina is a three-minute drive away from the caravan park and both Colemere and Whitemere sailing clubs are within easy reach. By car, the standard of whitewater rafting at Bala Adventure and Watersports will have you foaming at the mouth – a milder form of the sport, along with abseiling, gorge walking, a steam railway and horse-drawn boat trips is available over the border in Wales at Llangollen.

La unitat ha de quedar neta i ordenada. En cas contrari, haureu de pagar un suplement de neteja de 30,00 £ (34,68 €) quan marxeu.

Arribades i sortides

Aquest establiment no té recepció. En el seu lloc, registreu-vos al/a la/a l' House.
Les arribades tardanes s'han de notificar al càmping al més aviat possible. La vostra reserva queda garantida durant 24 hores. Un cop passat aquest temps, la direcció es reserva el dret de rellogar la vostra unitat.
