A river – the small and shallow River East Onny – runs through The Green Caravan Park in Shropshire. That means that your days here can be spent paddling and fishing: pick up a cheap net at the site shop and keep your little shrimps entertained for hours for mere pennies. Once you've all dried off, nature spotting is up next at the area set aside as a nature wilderness. The Green Caravan Park covers 15 acres of Onny Valley countryside in a National Landscape between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones Hills: it’s no wonder it’s been called ‘a little gem’ by previous happy campers. On site is a play area and plenty of space for bike riding or outdoor games. Dogs can stretch their paws at the dog walk and exercise area (just please keep dogs on leads in other areas of the park and clear up after them in all areas). Food is well covered too: the popular family-friendly Inn on the Green serves home-cooked food and is directly accessible from the park (pre-booking is highly recommended), and there are several country inns in the local area – steak and ale pies at The Crown get a particular thumbs up.

Acampada tranquil·la i ben cuidada amb parcel·les espaioses. Els propietaris són amables i servicials. Ubicació bonica amb camins, pubs i botiga a prop. Em va agradar Lovely campsite, kept very tidy, toilets and shower block very clean, and staff are very friendly and helpful 10/10 for me

No em va agradar Unfortunately we were camped up on the island, and a couple next to us had music playing all day and into the night, (Friday and Saturday) some fellow campers kindly asked them to turn it off around 11pm as they’d had enough, some people have no respect for their neighbours

Em va agradar Location, lovely spacious pitches. Open ground to walk the dog very close by. Facilities were amble, and close by for us. Hosts were great. Booking and check in were very easy. Site was very clean and tidy.

Em va agradar A lovely, clean and tidy campsite. The owners were lovely. We were camped near the stream and had plenty of space for our trailer tent and car. The kids enjoyed playing in the stream and finding crayfish and fish. The little play area was also handy. There was an undercover area with picnic tables, games, book and dvds if the weather wasn't great.
The toliet and shower block were large, there was no queuing in the mornings.
The reception had ice cream, some kids toys to purchase and information about the area.
There is a little but well stocked shop use off site (in walking distance) with homemade cakes and savoury food along with a mixture of food, toys, snack, kitchen stuff and camping bits.
We really enjoyed our week here. It was a great base to visit a beautiful area. Hopefully we might be back.
We also had some really clear nights and the stars were amazing.

Many visitors to The Green Caravan Park come for Shropshire strolls around the calm country lanes and hills, along the Offa’s Dyke path or from nearby village Wentnor. The park is between the Stiperstone Hills and the Long Mynd, which make up the biggest area of heathland in the Shropshire hills: walk the five and a half miles of the Stiperstone Ridge from the Knolls car park for magnificent views towards the Long Mynd. Folk flock to the area for the birdwatching too: keep an eye out for red kites, plovers and buzzards around the Stiperstones, which is a national nature reserve. This is also castle country: Stokesay, Powis, Montgomery, Clun and Ludlow castles are all within easy driving distance. Have a wander around the festival and foodie town of Ludlow after seeing the castle or see the castle, abbey and over 660 listed buildings of medieval town Shrewsbury, both half an hour away. Industrialists will be kept busy at nearby Snailbeach Lead Mine and historic Ironbridge and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums about 15 miles from Shrewsbury: this World Heritage Site site should keep even the urchins happy, especially going back in time to Blists Hill Victorian Town or creeping down the old Tar Tunnel. Closer to your pitch but dating from further away in time, Bury Ditches Iron Age hill fort is between Clun and Bishop's Castle: go on to the latter for more walks, access to the Shropshire Way and the country’s oldest brewery, the Three Tuns. Well-behaved urchins can be rewarded at several family-friendly Shropshire attractions: if they liked Ironbridge they’ll probably be fond of the historic working farm at the Acton Scott estate, featured on the BBC’s Victorian Farm, or getting close to the natives at Telford’s Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom.
