Set in 100 acres of landscaped parkland in rural Bedfordshire, the pitches at Box End Park are just the spot for sporty families, first-time campers… and all outdoorsy folks, really. The peaceful, activity-filled site has two spring-fed, purpose-built lakes with bookable activities including a giant aqua park, cable wakeboarding, paddleboarding and disc golf. All the pitches are on flat, well-drained grassland, and the site has its own dedicated heated toilet block with hot showers, as well as outdoor washing-up sinks. If you need them, additional showers are located in the main clubhouse and are shared with the watersports facilities. When you need to refuel, head over to the on-site bar, restaurant and café (opening hours vary, so please check ahead). If you'd rather flip your own food on the grill, barbecues are permitted off the ground at the pitches, but no campfires/firepits are allowed. This is a quiet, family-friendly site with a strict no-noise policy after 10.30pm, so perhaps it’s not the place for you if you’re after a wild nightlife – having said that, the historic market town of Bedford is only 15 minutes’ drive away, with its healthy helping of pubs and restaurants.

  • No hi ha ningú a recepció després de les 17:00. Si creieu que arribareu més tard, aviseu el càmping per tal que l'equip us pugui proporcionar la informació necessària sobre la vostra unitat/parcel·la.

Seguretat

  • Està prohibit banyar-se al llac.

Vehicles

  • No es permeten les unitats de més de 8 metres de llarg.
  • No s'admeten vehicles comercials (vehicles utilitzats amb motiu de feina o per transportar mercaderies o passatgers) ni vehicles amb propaganda al càmping.
  • Electric pitches: 16.66 kWh of electricity are included per day. Further usage is metered onsite at £0.30 per kWh and is payable via a top-up card which is issued on arrival. A £5 deposit is required for the card, refundable at check-out. Activities are seasonal and do not run every day.

Em va agradar Location, loads of activities, lovely and clean facilities. HUGE pitches. Very well maintained. Free wifi, although wasn't the best, the premium wifi was good value, but didn't purchase it for a shorter stay.

No em va agradar The water tap was on my pitch. Which meant there was people coming up all night long filling up their water and waking us up. They gave us the wrong pitch originally, which mean although I had started setting up I had to move. The original pitch they gave me, Id have much preferred to stay on than the one I was moved to. Even though there a path next to my pitch, becuase the water and electric hook up was on my pitch, people kept walking through my camp.

We do apologise for having to move you from your original pitch after you had already begun setting up. We appreciate that this was inconvenient, and understand that you would have preferred to remain on your original pitch. Although we’re unable to see any notes relating to the original allocation, we always aim to ensure pitches are allocated correctly first time and will take your feedback on board.

Our water taps are communal facilities, and we do ask guests to be considerate of other campers and to use them outside of our quiet hours of 10:30pm–7:00am. We’re sorry that people were accessing the tap during the night and, in doing so, walking through your camping area and disturbing you.

Thank you again for your feedback. We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope that, overall, you had a lovely stay with us. We’d be very pleased to welcome you back in the future.

Em va agradar The campsite is easily accessible and the welcome is warm—you feel right at home immediately. The facilities are perfectly adequate; everything you need is there. It is an ideal spot for families with children. There is plenty of activity during the day, while the evenings and nights are quiet. A restaurant and a shop are within easy walking distance—perfect for a relaxing evening. And for water sports enthusiasts, the proximity to the lake is a real plus—ideal for a variety of activities.

Llocs d'interès

One of the highlights at the Forest Centre and Millennium Country Park (15 minutes’ drive) is the Wetlands Nature Reserve, inhabited by shrews, otters and butterflies. A circular trail skirts the lake (with bird hides), going past woodlands and reedbeds where you might spot different birds depending on the season. Falcons, owls and eagles are among the winged residents at Herrings Green Activity Farm and Bird of Prey Centre (20 minutes). Here, in addition to witnessing flying displays (accompanied by an informative but entertaining commentary), visitors can have their picture taken with the birds. Santa Pod Raceway (35 minutes) is a racetrack with a lively programme of events: from modified and classic car shows, to what they call ‘Run What You Brung’ days, where they open the track to the general public and their cars (or bikes). The place is best known for drag racing, a thrilling acceleration contest over a short distance.
