Student camping - calling all uni students and graduates...
byAt university or about to graduate this year? Tired of the jobs market doom and gloom for 2013 graduates? Looking for an non-extortionate holiday with your pals during what looks to be a scorching summer ?
If the answer to any of the above is yes, Pitchup.com can help. Camping is a novel way of piecing together a collage of holiday activities without grossly inflating your post-university debt. Whether it's cycling, going to a festival, surfing or getting away to the countryside for some spectacular scenery, we have hundreds of sites listed.
Over the past few years, as the recession's loomed and graduate jobs have evaporated, camping rapidly became a cost-effective, youthful sort of holiday glamorised by Kate Moss, Tom Cruise and Ted Baker's airbeds. It also helped re-expose the unique charms of remote locations in the UK and Ireland such as wildlife havens in Orkney and the Shetlands, country walks in the Cotswolds and beaches in the Channel Islands.
Turned down as a student group?
Tried to book as a student group and found you were turned down? Yes - we know the plot all too well. Our feedback forum attracted people who have tried to book campsites or parks in the past and been rejected, simply because they booked in numbers or because there were too many of one sex. In response, we’ve built student groups welcome and single-sex groups welcome features into our search engine so you can search for relevant sites. You can narrow down the search results as much as you like, for example sites that welcome student groups and allow campfires . You can also search for budget campsites where students are welcome , student-friendly sites listed as wild camping and dozens more using our filters.
We have also added features for gay friendly, leave the car at home and naturist sites. Let us know if we can help in any other way via our feedback form .
Festival this summer?
Heading to a festival this summer? Our advice - look beyond the festival campsites and you may just find a hidden gem.
We’ve created a 'Sites near festivals' search on our homepage, so you can enter your chosen festival and check out parks nearby in order of distance. If you are going to Bestival , for example, Pondwell Farm openly welcomes single-sex groups. For Glastonbury , there are several options nearby where student or single sex groups can book - glamp it up in E-den camping cabins or log cabins at Middlewick Farm at the foot of Glastonbury Tor, or book an electric or non-electric pitch for your tent or motorhome at the Cross Keys Inn .
To find campsites near any festival, find your event on our festival finder, add in your dates on the left and filter below for student groups or single sex groups welcome.
